Tube issues. posted on 2006-10-15 10:40:22

So pretty much, this is how it is.
The past 2 days I've gotten flats, and I haven't been able to find any "anamolies"(thorns, nails, screws, etc.) in my tire or tube. But my spokes are loose and I do alot of 180s.

I ride my tubes at 80-85 PSI so I think it might be pinch flats.
Or my spokes might be puncturing the tube.
Or something's wrong with my tire.

It can still hold air for a couple hours. But anyway, if it is the spokes, can they be tightened without messing up the true of the wheel?

Thanks.

I have a gold one. BA-LING!! But anyway, I got mine from the local bike shop for like, $10.00 or something. I still want the Interlock 2 though.

Yeah, enough bantering and such.

A track will work if you're just starting to jump. Actually, I wish I had a track to start at when I started riding trails.

Second question, if the step up is as long as the double, then yeah.

One-handers are way easy. X-up if you think you can do it. If you have brakes you can try some one-footers. Just don't try to go too huge.

Brakes are not neccessary. If you have about 50 feet to stop and have good shoes. But brakes are also good for tricks, and you can use the brake to stop your back wheel causing you to tilt forward due to the inertia from the wheel transferred into the bike or some shit.

Have fun.

Wow, that's a good idea. And the way this kid is, half of the work is already done.

And he's 15.

Underground U.K. BMX video by Joe Cox. It's savage. Good music. Tight tricks, and tight pants.

If your riding flatland, disregard this post.

Real men don't need freecoasters.

Ummmm...Sun City Lite rims in urban camo laced to the Hermosa hubset. Or the Thirteen cranks. And if you say Snafu sucks, that's chill, other people's opinions don't matter to me.

Dunno... posted on 2006-10-05 22:24:19

So, basically, there's this kid that talks mad shit. I would beat his ass, but he's under 18 and I recently turned 18, and this kid is the type of scandalous punk-ass bitch that would call the cops on me if I whooped his ass. So, should I find someone to whoop his ass for me, sabotage his bike, or just whoop his ass myself?

Re: Three-piece. posted on 2006-10-05 17:44:10

Yeah, but I don't ride very hard. I bent the last 1 piece I rode, but it was from my Nipper. But I don't think I'll break a crankset. I currently run a X-Games(Vertical or Huffy quality) and the only thing that's wrong with it is the bottom bracket bearings.

Well. I haven't done my first handrail yet. But I like the idea of the rail hop. Be all pro status and such. Or railhop tailtap. I like tailtaps like that. Or be all pro status and railhop to double peg, so if I screw it up I'll just fall into the grass.

Bunnyhops are all in the arms.

When I was a kid (in around 85) my dad built a set of bunnyhop bars for me.

All you need is a couple of 8 foot 2 X 4's. Cut one in half, and cut notches in it every 2 inches. Make the notches big enough for a bike flag pole, made out of flexible plastic, so it gives if you hit it. Cut both at the same time, so they are equal, and put some legs on there. Put the notches at the back so if you hit the bar it will fall on the ground.

Work your way up. I used to put mine at the top and jump over the whole thing after about four years of practice. (thats 48 inches).

We would have contests every Friday in my neighborhood. It was fun. I even took the bunnyhop bars to Woodward. It takes time to build up your arms to be able to jump that high.

I can still bunnyhop over 30 inches. (as you can see by that photo). And I just started trying it again after staying off my bike for over 15 years...

That's a good idea. I should build myself a set of those.  That's an easy way to progress.  And I wanna get higher than knee-height.

I still wear a full-face, and I'm pretty sure that's the only reason why I didn't get a broken jaw.

Re: gloves posted on 2006-10-04 11:29:35

I ride gloves sometimes, just depends on the grips. I ride Snafu Poly grips and they're soft enough to bike with and not get blisters. But I still perfer gloves, because when your hands get all sweaty your grips won't get all slippery and such.

Re: Cranks/wheels posted on 2006-10-04 11:25:03

No, you didn't by a shatty bike. I'm getting the Fuse 1 pretty soon here, and I think you just need to wait for the bottom bracket to "seed" if it's anything like a headset. Which it probably isn't. Just keep it tight. And with the rims, it just might be the tire, but if it isn't the tire and they still seem to be bent, just go and get it trued.

Three-piece. posted on 2006-10-04 11:16:21

So, basically, it's like this. Within the week I'm getting a Specialized Fuse 1.  Looks pretty solid, but there are two things that I don't like about it. The gyro, but that doesn't bug me that much, and the stock crank. Heat treated 1-piece. So I've been looking at three pieces. I'm considering the following cranksets.

Eastern 720
Poverty P.O.W.
Redline Device
Redline Monster
Snafu 4130
Stolen Team

I'm thinking the P.O.W. or the Monster since those seem to be the cranks that will have the least effect on my wallet.
