Wow, and you're in Florida, who would have guessed! =] "Ya'll like NASCAR?"
Re: People who spin to their lefts posted on 2006-05-30 23:25:34
Well as you can see, it's a simple fact. People who spin to their right are just naturally very very stupid and borderline retarded people. So of course the people that rotate left are going to be better. They're more logical, smarter, and to be frank, simply less retarded.
Re: Why go brakeless? posted on 2006-05-30 23:17:49
Here's the reasons, and I don't think anyone can argue with this:
1. Bike riders are stupid and people have short attention spans in our generation. Brakes are either too complicated, or too much of a "hassle" or time consumer to justify using them.
The new trendy "make my bike weight 2 lbs" people may say it saves weight and is worth it that way, and that is totally legit. I couldn't argue with that.
So to summarize:
People are either too stupid or lazy (aka don't want to deal with hassle)
or they're saving weight.
(Yes, a lot of what I said was a joke, don't get butthurt.)

Bringing an entire shop in just an airplane might be kind of tough.

Same, the only time I hit my feet on the back peg is when my feet get oddly out of place.

There was some neat stuff, but I can see why it was scrapped. I thought to myself "that was kinda cool" but not "OMG WTF". The only thing I have to add it seeing all those tight jeans made MY balls hurt. Come on, there is a such thing as pants that are stupidly tight. We're not girls, we don't have nice asses to show off guys.

I don't really get what this has to do with street riding.
Re: Rawing a frame...how long are we talking? posted on 2006-05-21 18:24:35
Sandblasting it will take <10 minutes. The only problem will be that it very possibly will take off the heat makes from the welding too, which most people want to leave. Using a stripper, such as aircraft stripper, will leave the heat marks. And like mosh said, as long as you don't let it sit around wet for a couple weeks rust shouldn't be an issue.
Re: Great dirt jumps vid posted on 2006-05-21 18:09:54
OK video but all the mountain bike stuff on the jump with the steep lip was just lame. And 1 backflip is enough for me to watch. But it's a better video than people normally post.

It won't pass because of the people who ride bikes to work, ride for exercise, etc. Biking in general is looked at in a very good light, just not BMX. If you could somehow get legislators to separate BMX from other types of biking, then maybe.

I definitely second riding your friends bikes and see what feels good. I used to ride 4pc. hoffmans back in the day, then a couple pairs of slam bars, then some FBM...etc. Anyway, now I'm riding T1 bars, but in some cases I still miss my slams. Point is, ride a lot of stuff, see what suites you best.

If you break yourself the city=sued. If a skateboarder hurts himself the city=not sued. The law sucks, but it's only logical for the state to enforce this law. So nobody gets sued.

Re: dose bike wieght actually do somthing? posted on 2006-05-09 20:14:32
Older bikes were unnecessarily heavy. My bike that I gave to my girlfriend was a next gen dirtbike which i ground a hole about 3/8 through a chainstay and never had problems with it, I rode that bike for about 2 years or so. Before that I had a Hoffman Taj, and my cousin is still riding that and I bought that quite a while ago, and it's been through hell. Point is they were heavy and strong beyond reason.

I was joking, turn on your sarcasm detector friend. It was made 2 years ago. Copyright info is all over all dvds. Soooo, sorry I didn't make that more clear? Also that's why "older" is in quotes =\
Re: dose bike wieght actually do somthing? posted on 2006-05-08 15:41:39
Bike weight does matter, but not enough to justify buying all new parts or something. I did notice while riding saturday with my g.f. that her bike is harder to ride (it's my old S&M). I think it's way easier to bunnyhop with height with a lighter bike, but as far as riding any thing with transition, such as dirt, you would only notice a difference in quicker movements.
Thought I'd write a couple reviews posted on 2006-05-08 15:37:07
Bought a couple videos recently, so I figured I'd write a couple reviews.
T1 "You get what you get...": Pretty cool "older" video. Before the little sprocket trend really hit. Ruben Alcantara and Garret Byrnes do most of the riding, some cool little stuff. It's kind of like a little travel documentary too, because a few of them travel around the world. I thought it was fun to watch, it wasn't scene after scene of hardcore riding. Still pretty cool. And the extras are really cool/funny. Mostly street and park, some dirt.
Shook "We are everywhere": This video was overall pretty cool too, except some of the music seemed whack to me. The first rap song is just terrible. Some cool editting, cool tricks, some street rider with a freecoaster. I personally didn't care for this one as much as the T1 video, but the Shook dvd had more riding for sure. Mostly street and park.
