I figured there would be hesitation upon this request due to the opening statement and further said. Yes, Bike Week is designed for use of bikes in whatever form and shape, but there is new thing that is called fun, so try it. This Throw down is not limited to Flatland BMX only. Reverting back to the suits...I'm not closed to it, but ChrisP held it tight.. raising the bar. My long Board buddies do this jam called "Board Meetings", there are about 60-120 dudes who all dress up in suits, they take over the streets and get the media coverage. WE don't deal with media at the Throw Downs, only during the City Demo. Last year ChrisP and Brandon did not go full on with the suit in regards to a blazer, but in their best way did try to accommodate for the Throw Down Challenge. There was plenty of respect given to both riders, and to honor their efforts we did our own DVD that was shown at the Flatland DVD nite. That DVD has been requested to be shown to Mayor and Councilors at the City Hall in Mississauga since it shows there is such a thing as Flatland BMX, riders are diverse human beings who hold positions in society and are not lawbreakers. I was told to cut the riding part short for viewing since it is too long..... NO! Throw Downs are about fun, being part of the urban landscape or that particular environment and displaying your true riding form in a given time. Hey I'm not suggesting speedos, like this one guy who shows up at the Toronto City Hall on his "Surf Bike"... But then I'm known to wear BLK bikini when riding, ready for the rain! its up to Riders to display their best security/blue guard look. This could be done at the City Hall in a "controlled" setting, letting the organizers know we would be costumed, after all surf bike speedo man can't steal the show each year, nor do I recall him wearing a helmet unlike our riders at the City Demo. It's up to the rider to be creative but not limited to the "get up", concept as requested. TD is chosen due to reasons already known by riders and more loose than the demo.

Crazy Riding: Music just for a certain Man/Rider who should stand by his words:
TOM WAITS: Lie To Me
TOM WAITS: Time
LEADBELLY: John Henry
LEADBELLY: Take This Hammer
( I sang these songs accompanied by long thick chain, during performance days, ,but versions as done by Johnny Cash and Nick Cave, with the use of the "art of controlled screaming").

DIAMANDA GALAS-See That My Grave Is Kept Clean

Been contacted by Toronto Bike Week Organizers. Last year we did the demo at the Toronto City Hall and ASC Throw Down at the TD Bank. Well this year the demo is in the afternoon, not freaking 7:00 am!
I know I get fucking bored of repetition, well not that things stay the same when riding..but throw downs are about challenges and risk as said no guts no galaxy.....we have done the suit and tie thing, so now what at the TD? YOU WILL DRESS UP AS security guards, and to take if even further as cops and mounties, basically a rep who is a lawmaker not breaker, since I'm the disher, even though I've already been there done that, I just might dress up too. Life is a Game Play it.

Chris, Dave, Grant and myself felt very honored to have presented Bobby's Diversion 6.0. Thank you Mr. Bobby K. Carter. The ASC apart from myself, they didn't know WE had two screenings, and both were great. It was worth having people late. I really liked DIV 6.0 due to the sensibilities displayed on various levels. All are incredible Riders, especially that one particular Flatlander from Japan who is really amazing. His parents, both have the same "disability" (deafness), but their encouragement and strength has made that Flatlander who/what he is....WOW. I take he picked up language from others around him when he was a baby. Also I'm happy with our "little" DVD since it's The ASC's first attempt to capture TD riding with no real budget or takes. NEIL (soild man on wheels) and Jason you make us look good. Many aren't aware but Chris P and Brandon Fenton showed up before 7:00 am, during Toronto Bike Week for a demo at the Toronto City Hall on a very blistering hot day. We all took this day off work, both riders changed clothing, after, we proceeded to go to the TD bank for the ASC Throw Down Challenge and throughout we did not get hassled by security. So Miss. PaulaTx (in regards to screening space, I like your diplomacy, yes, both venues have their Charm, mind you I love CineCycle and what Martin who owns the place represents, he is one Rider with a big heart), if the image of ChrisP in a suit is what strikes, I guess we've done a good job ...HA! I 've always considered the Flatlanders to be the Renaissance Riders or the Suits in BMX....since Flatlanders encompass so much balance and grace when riding and I'm sure this too translates in your day to day lives. I really want to thank CFO BMX: Chris P( ON Flatland Ambassador) and OSD ( those Trivia questions got some of those Baby Flats thinking and get to know their Flatland history) for their encouragement and support as well to all the Ontario Riders, especially Chase, Brandon and TOFlat, Mike Heaton, and Greg the Core Man... good work/heart helps motivate US in The ASC. To the PA judge (so sorry I'm the worst with names but I never forget a face), or anyone interested, get in contact with me. Lets get some Flatland and BMX footage in the Toronto Screening Aug. 07., for the International Bicycle Film Festival. Cheers to all the Flatlanders and BMXERS (The FU comp/series and the Toronto BMX Jam was an awesome step forward for ON Riders) Neela C.
