This is BMX/Bike Concrete Park, NOT for Sk8boarding. Read carefully. If you don't know what the park looks like check our ASC site
under the news section there is a image that WE revised after Jay designed it for The ASC:

Concrete BMX Park Project-The ASC has a design for a 24,000 sq. foot concrete BMX park. The design is based off of one done by pro BMX rider Jay Miron. The City of Mississauga is doing a business plan in order to determine the viability of constructing a $500,000K plus park for BMX. ASC, with the help of fundraising contests, and corporate sponsors; is planning to raise $100,000 towards the project. The start date for this project is tentatively set for 2007.

It does not matter if you live is Sauga or not public parks are for anyone from any where to use: on that note I spoke to the feasibility study coordinator and clearly stated BMX history must acknowledge Flatland. Mentioned ASC has held a FlatLand event to prove it's stability also well various events taking place in support of this sport. To acknowledge that Flatland riding brings progression to the BMX sport. It's a concrete sport, (WE want mention FlatGrass riding by the Jamaican BMXers... HA!). Recommend a Flat section along the side of
the facility, it will not be separate on site from the park. Regardless there is a need for Flat section just as that placed at the Mississauga SkateBoard Park. They are and will consider these issues and hopefully fall through with it. Who cares if its one freaking rider
comin'al the way from Timbuktu wanting to Fltsurf as long he/she knows its exists at a concrete BMX Park! So the rider mentioning in the
some thread sim along these lines "YO kats, I can't ride the lot or the cave no more security chasing ma ass", mind you WE'll ride
whatever, be there a park or not, but hey its nice to know there is a free public place one can goto with out the tagging/chasin'.

I've been asked how much flat surface is required along one of the sections of the park. So take a look at the park, riders suggest
something realistic here in regards to sq. foot. I'm stoked to say they are not comparing this to SK8boarding anymore!!!! Its about time.
They are considering volume, density and numbers in accordance to BMX use.

Negative thinking when it comes to Park building or putting on events and comps brings nothingness, in the end one automatically will
learn in the process what works and does not. Nothing is perfect. All One I can do is bring awareness that this facility fully encompasses
BMX riding, hopefully they will do that. I'm letting you all in on a whole lot what ASC does for the Sports its represents in this
PedalBMX public forum, we usually do 'n 'don't discuss much. ........N

Rob, that's nice of you, anything I want huh? Well..
I'll mention the invite to ASC, its not an easy thing what YOU are wanting to do. Nor has it been for all the riders but things are changing for the better. Its amazing.

Cheers

Rob: Biggie respect to ya for fully supporting Flatland and making sure they are not neglected and getting equal representation.

Thought I'd share this with you all. The ASC has been advocating for "safe" public parks for the past 31/2 years.
WE have managed to have the city build 7 free so called "action sports" parks in total. The Mississauga Sk8 Park would have taken much longer to built, but with the support of the ASC BMXers the existence of that facility came into reality quicker. A facility they cannot ride. AS you all know there is no outdoor free concrete public facility created for BMX/Bikes. This is so ridiculous I got
news today security is fining close to $400.00 just for showing with a bike at the SK8 Park they are not warning at this point: straight fines. I'd like to see human rights board stepping in at this point! So where will they expect Johnny to ride? There will be an increase of BMX riding in whatever form with the influence of BMX in the Olympics. Right now there is a Sk8er
at every street down the road, soon there will a BMXer too. The cities better get used to wheel sports commanding youth.
Cory Dee no offense when I write, read between the lines. "They" been comparing the Sk8 community and Industry to BMX in ON on every level. ASC is trying to change that. "They" are slowing starting to get this.
I've only one thing to stand by: That Which Makes You Weak Will Make You Strong( hence CFOBMX comp at the 2006 Bike Show). Everything has time/place/reason.
The Vaughn Park is closed and the nearest public park that is user friendly allowing bikes is in Niagara.
A good time to confront the City in building the BCP( BMX/Bikes Concrete Park). Be you a vert/street/flatland/dirt rider, you've all participated in signing the ASC petition during 2004-2006 Metro Jam and International Bike show, and during all our competitions and events.
I'm glad to inform ya'll, that the City of Mississauga with the influence of the ASC has taken the petitions seriously and placed it into their feasibility study about BMX. You've all seen what the BCP looks like having been to our booth and events, I will suggest they include in their Recommendation Draft a section/surface for FlatLand. I want to thank you all in
the Flatland community riders/organizers, our last events involving your participation will enable ASC to have the
ammunition to make the city aware of what is all BMX, and the need to move forward, no more waiting in getting the free public park in process.
I want to inform you of some of the questions the city is reviewing for their study:

Background and history of BMX:
I'll inform about the role of Flatland Riding too, as far as I/ASC is concerned without Flatland, BMX would not evolve or progress. At the Metro Jam street comp, one or 2 of the riders employed flatland skills during their run, and I think recalled this move also being displayed/used in latest the MacNeil DVD. What is that moved called? The front wheel is rolling and rider is off the sit not using pedals, his/her body weight is forward holding onto the bars or sit, OMG,
phunking bad description on my part!!! Anyway main thing ensuring they include Flatland surface.

BMX:
They better discuss/include Flatland historics: Shall use ASC proof /back up, thanks to our events and Big *smooch* to Jeff D: you included our ASC/UTM JAM and Hugs to C.P/CFOBMX for support/attendance!

Recommendations:
Surface on site for Flatland riding, similar to flat surface they placed at the Mississauga Sk8 park so
Sk8 beginners can practice, but bigger at The BCP.

The City has assigned someone to draft the feasibility study, The Action Sports Coalition will look into how it's coming along and making sure they get it right.

Timelines
Complete first draft with recommendations ñ Week of March 13th. I'll be calling ASAP first thing in the morning to make
sure Flat surface is included.
The City will Present Study and recommendations to ASC ñ mid April.
You all should be aware most of the cities and yes Toronto looks towards Mississauga when it comes to Parks and Rec.especailly when it comes to BMX, Sk8 and MTB, so they can follow the same direction.

For this rider(Sk8boarder/cyclist/hoping to surf since my 2nd try in NorCal), the support, motivation and inspiration from from BMX/Sk8/MTB - FLATLAND communities WE represented and in association, anyone whatever walk of life means whole lotta to the hearts of all THE ASC volunteers. Sounds cheezy and coming from the Big Cheeze, well whatever, long winding no other way to say all this.
