in belgium do you drive on the left or right side of the road? i assume left? if so, the left lane on multi-lane roads is still the passing lane? its not switched around?
in japan there is a passing lane on the right on highways.
also, the max "legal" speed limit in japan is 80kph which is like... just under 50 miles an hour.
I rode with my brother in his '89 MR-2 doing 110+ on a 60kph street in Okinawa.
I know we were going fast though, we got to the point where the beeping sound starting going off when you hit a certain limit, telling you you're going quite fast. I know it's in the 100-120kph range, so I just stuck with 110...
Now that I think about it, that street could have been an 80kph street... I remember hitting a huge pothole when he slammed on the gas.
ANYWAY, I would have passed on the shoulder too, but not until after I passed the broken-down car.
If this is bad to you guys, you should come over here and get on the Korean highways.
Korean Highways? How about any place besides the states? Just about everyplace in europe you can do exactly what you guys were doing. Although its no legal, people take it a lot easier there, then they do around here. Given, you will pick up an occasional ticket or two, but its still a lot more laid back. Course, im referring to what ive experianced in most places in Hungary & slovakia.
