I never really laced with a "twisted" pattern, i guess you can never really get the spoke tension to its max That looks really cool anyway. Now imagine that pattern with multiple colored spokes... hum... thats an ideia.
haha thanks, i might actually consider that, for one the spokes i used are deffinately, would like to be replaced, thre pretty messed up looking as the wheels near 10 yrs old., but i have the set there, so if it work out well i may just try buy new spokes and use them on my race bike, maybe look at replacing the hubs also, but it would deffinately be something different.
haha, red, black and crome spokes, 1 colour per section. what do you think?

Re: Wheel lacing.... final secret.... posted on 2006-10-03 02:25:09

one possibility wrong size spokes, but what i believe it is, i no i had this problem heaps when i tried to learn as the tutorial showed a wheel of such a different nature to mine, was the crossover pattern was wrong.
So the more times the spokes cross the longer they need to be, i believe your most likely trying 4x with spokes for 3 cross, or something of that nature.
thanks for the link to that snow flake one, i ended up taking couplle mpore links from there and found one i decided i wanted to try, and heres how it turned out.

thats using the old ody t1000 flame rims, thats before i tensioned and trued but its gives you a bit of an idea what i did.

hmmm, ive noticed radial wheels seem to 'losen' up easier...

and it also seems to take less force to tension to them...

so id watch out for over tensioning the wheel...seems like a good way to break a flange specially on radial wheels
i believe that would be partialy related to the hook of the spoke actually try to bend a bit straighter, moreso than cross laced because it's plling it directly up as opposed to sideways, so it i trying more efficentlly to straiten it n a sense.. just my 2 cents.

Re: What brand of parts dominates on your bike? posted on 2006-10-01 21:18:29

yeah probably oddysey here to,old hazzard freecoaster, hazzard lite back rim ody 41 therm cranks, either ody plastic pedals or jim c's  freq g tires,, and when i feel like brakes evolvers and slick cable, on occasion. whoa i see what you mean ody's a very dominant company. Least domnant well most other parts are all only 1 part per company, excluding dragonfly frame and sprocket.

Re: low seats posted on 2006-10-01 16:37:06

thats another option if your real pissy about weight, i remember when i was younger id just car  double ended 5-6mm allen key and it was unnoticable.

Re: low seats posted on 2006-10-01 16:20:58

what the fuck are you seriously retarted, just carry a small bag around with maybe 2 -3kg of tools when you go on long rides. fuck getting a point across to this kid is like smashing your head into a brick wall. you said you go for 30 mile rides unless your lying then, n those rides thake tools.

Re: low seats posted on 2006-10-01 09:15:17

what the hell so because you can normally walk it home, yet you do ride extremeley long distance, you still wont bring tools, you could even just do it on the long rides. am i the only thats thinks his comment sounnds a bit strange. :?

Re: funny rims posted on 2006-10-01 05:19:47

hmm ive was doing one at one point, and was thinking about the stereo idea, what i had in mind was making something along the lines of gusset style piece like on the 1980 mongooses and many other bikes from that era. basically have to opposite each other, but im not a big fan of stereo in the sense your basically forcing everyone with in a certain distance to have to hear you sorta music, and im not to bigger fan of doing that to often. also i don't believe these owrider style bikes should cost much at all, i believe they should be custom the way you like it, not just fitting other pieces that are reproed, and im definately not a fan of seeing 1pc cranks on them, i say cuttle pin all the way for them.

these are probably the most advanced point but ive sorta lost interestin finishing it, as i just don't have enough acces to tools and certain materals i want. like i planned on chopping and reuild that frame a bit use a larger backend and like rool the ss tubes tpo join the old points roughly. and  a couple other things, but i just can't get it done. ohwell.

Re: low seats posted on 2006-10-01 03:09:44

what the hell if your riding long distance you should in general take tools, just incase something goes wrong and your in thhe middle of knowhere and can't fix it.

not that one topic in the wrong area is a problem, but it leads to more people that sign up seeing that you asked in a similar question to theirs so they say oh,alright its cool, then before you know it,the street forum has gone to questions about cranks or wheels
thats exactly how i felt and why i posted what i did.

this quite annoying because all the macniel post combos i come across as id liike to get one but there always chopped right dow so in result there no use to me, as the post is to short as it is, ohwell.
