Unfortunatley, the pavement sucks. So that added frustration. You can tell it was done or pressed in like 4-5ft strips and the decline goes across. So every 4-5 ft i'm hitting these divets not to mention its grey stone pressed. On some of my tight steams where its about to turbine, it actually kicked back into a sunken divet. :x
anyway, thats my session, as few as they are these days.

Just had a good transaction dealing with Lou, aka 87haromaster aka Graveyard29.
SteveL sent me out a 28t sprocket for free. Both are good peeps in my book.

Thats not terrible. I weighed mine just for kicks, about 31.5 pounds. Id be happy at about 28.5 pounds, But it does the job.

I grew up in Indianapolis. Tons o' snow too. Me and my buddy used to Practice Flat moves in his garage, Shoveled the driveway and rode his quarter pipe, and built launch ramps and went for crazy jumping stuff landing in the snow. Other than driving to a parking garage, and possibly bringin a wall ride ramp with you, Maybe pick up a winter hobby??

I dont really see that type of sentiment around where I live. But then again, The city i live in is like one big upper middle class suburb. Having said that tho,
I personally can kinda relate to it tho. Ive been to other countries, And I kinda miss the charm of it. Not really noticing as much BS there, as the BS media propaganda/terrorism we are bombarded with everyday.
Yeah its kinda sad, Guatiao, For so much BS to be going on here and nobody putting it in check, It almost doesnt feel like the country I remember growing up in.

Well tonight sucked kinda. My knee been actin up, and its really hard to do anything.
I pulled like 2 hydrant turbines to steams, other attempts were super unsucessful, not even close to quality of this weekend. At least it was in the low 60's for a change, Thank God...
Put practicing whiplashes on hold for a long time. Tried one the other night, Almost... Only havin probs catching the frame on the other side.
Its sessions like this that make me wanna go back to full offset everything.

thick n wider rubber on the sides so the leather does'nt get prematurely worn out by being rubbed against the cranks/forks.

Also something more rugged on the inner part of the the shoe. Like when you wear it out by dragging your foot on the back of the tire.

Re: Todays Riding posted on 2006-09-02 23:58:59
Today, Got my first hydrant/steam turbine,(one i can call real), let it flow and rolled it a long time. I promised myself that I'd buy new pegs when I pulled it. Guess im gettin new pegs.
Also, squeaked about 10 times in a side squeak.......best ever. In addition, tommorow, i will take my new firehydrant to new levels........Im so close to catchin a regular sqeaker off hydrant.
I kinda mentioned this before, but a years worth of input seems to be payin off in a week, :-)

I know most people build unbikes with pretty much extra stuff they can find.
I was just kind of curious about why most unbikes I see have full offset forks and full offset stems.
Whereas the bikes that unbike guys ride are all zero offset forks and tiny stems.
Maybe im wrong here, But wouldn't you kinda want to run the same setup as your bike?
Tho I know the balance point on an unbike is really not like riding a bike at all.
Just curious....

Re: Todays Riding posted on 2006-08-31 22:22:38
Raining and windy tonight. I got a couple of parking garages bout a block from my house... :-D
Did some dumb stuff till my bike/shoes dried off. Worked on turbining steams again. Man, I got them more often than not, yet only rolling a few feet. At certain points the front wheel became so vertical, I couldnt tell if I was moving forward or not. Weightlessness is the best way I can describe it. Definately getting smoother and less effort involved. At least my worst attempt at these now is rolling about a foot forward.
Side sweaks getting WAY better. Getting 5-6 at best. Feelin more relaxed.....Yeah.
I'd have to say most of the tricks I been working on since getting back into it are polishing up nicely, lately.
Re: SUNTOUR Parts for sale!! posted on 2006-08-31 22:00:31
I'd give ya $15 for the brake cones and the clutches. Price is a bit steep, considering the arms, shoes, nuts, clips arent that hard to find and alot of it goes for coaster only build. No offense.

Sweet!!! We have to ride this weekend if its not all wet........ :-D
Re: How to install these? posted on 2006-08-31 20:05:42
I tried putting one of those on before. It took a long time. I even used some cheapie large sized circlip pliers and busted the nibs on the pliers trying to get it on. Only to find out it didnt fit in the groove all the way on my suntour + the chain couldnt sit down on the teeth all the way because of the "U" end of the c clip. I was soo pissed how long it took and it didnt even work well.
Save yourself the trouble and get it welded. Tho right now im running the nankai cog with a standard suntour clip just fine.. WAY better. I cant really see the suntour clip popping off as a freecoaster. They used to pop off alot when I ran straight up coaster brake tho.
