Re: fuck itunes posted on 2006-09-24 20:29:51

try this, its called ephpod. Its pretty cool, more robust than itunes, plus your supposed to be able to grab stuff off other peoples ipods to put on to your computer. (haven't tried that feature yet) Plus its free.

I'd say its pretty good. I draw some, but suck at faces and people. So for 40 mins, Id say damn good.

Today fucking ROCKED!!!

I actually made progression!!!!!!!!!!! Yes... I am a little excited. In my last post I was "crying" about that feeling like I hit a wall in all my progression. Well today, I broke it. I locked into more Hang-5s then ever. I still didn't roll them for more then 5-10 feet, but I am getting more used to where I need to be when riding in. Soon it will just be learning the balance, but half the battle is almost over.

The rest of my regular tricks felt better too, and I was just hitting more of everything tonight. It was one of those sessions that makes you just want to ride more and more until you can't lift your bike anymore.

That is all minor peanuts compared to my next feat though.... I actually learned a new fucking trick!! WOOT!

I hit my first ever Mc Circles tonight! I hit 4 of them for 4 complete spins each, and RODE OUT. I got a couple more for 2-3 spins and rode out, and a bunch more 1-5 spins that I didn't actually ride out of, but I actually rode out of a NEW trick almost 10 times tonight!!! It felt so damned good it made me want to scream (happy screams...).

They were some of the ugliest and sketchiest Mc Circles known to man mind you, but fuckin-A I learned a new trick!!

Ahhh... I am done, I just had to share my happiness though. All those feelings of my riding getting stagnant have vanished. I am a renewed rider. I did switch my stem out tonight from my Bizhouse back to my stock DK Signal stem too. This gave me about another inch of reach, and about 3/4 of an inch more height to my bars. I can't help but wonder if that was a huge help. I dunno, but it felt great. 0 offset forks and a mid reach stem are very nice in my book after tonight, it just made my front end feel so in control. I don't think I will ever go back to a super short stem again.

Sorry for the language too.. I am just so thrilled with tonights session!!!

Cool man, I had one of those sessions too last night. I recently switched back to a longer stem and more offset forks (dirt forks)  Heck thats the setup I grew up with for years. A longer reach front end definately is tons more stable. On top of that I switched to a diffrent tire.

So anyway last night went riding at the tennis courts, hadn't been there in a while. Man I was pulling lots of stuff. Hitting hydrant to steam turbines like butter. Getting more and more comfortable going for 1 handed steams. My bars and seat are pretty close, so I tried bustin out some old school. I was hitting forward side glides (landspeeders) going in circles a little, letting go into steams and cruising em. It reminded me of back in the day when I learned landspeeders for the first time. That was the first rolling trick I learned back when and soon after my progression exploded.  Lets hope history repeats itself.

After last night ride, I also feel renewed as a rider. I rode for bout 2 hours straight and felt positive about the session for it duration. I touched way less than normal too.  I'm actually kinda sore today, that hasn't happened in forever. Hope its a sign of things to come.

Re: Todays Riding posted on 2006-09-18 20:08:24

Put on some new tires today. I'm trying out those shadow conspiracy undertone tires. The only tire ive ridden since i been back into flat is elms, so I thought I would change it up a bit. They ride really nice. The got a hard centerline tread and the rest is a good scuffing surface. They spin fast.

Normally when I do steams I gotta grab the bar way on the outside to lever the tire to the side.
Man, One thing I noticed on these, the bike seemed effortless to steer in steams, like I could change directions and steer all over the place and actually feel locked in to riding on the side of the tire. Felt amazing.

Been hitting hydrants to fw steams about 4 times per session perfectly. Been working on these on and off for quite a while, im glad im finally getting someplace with these.

Re: Day VS. Night posted on 2006-09-17 19:15:56

Yeah, for some weird reason I ride better/more in controll it seems at dusk/night.
During the day it always seems too bright or too hot. Tho if its totally shaded during the day it seems to be ok.  Mostly I just figure there is less environmental stimulus in the cool night. Your not dealing with hot bright sun, sweat, cars, etc. I also tend to think your senses become more acute at night, for me anyway.

Cool topic, Interesting how im not the only one that feels held back a little riding during the day.

Hehe, Lil ol' school,
Brian Blyther ran x-tra long cables to whip around, plus he wound it up first, to undo it twice.
Steve Potts and Brian Scura fixed the rest

Re: Todays Riding posted on 2006-09-14 21:40:23

I couldnt ride yesterday because of rain. I've been noticing having a day off between sessions makes me more "crisp" the next session out.

I still can't stick the intro to McCircles, but tapin once and kicking got me about a circle and a half around tightly today. Hitting hydrant to steam turbines 60% of the time, At best cruising a complete circle.
Getting pretty proficient at steam>funky>steam>funky>steam......repeat. Even managing to get some good spastic front yards sans rideouts lately from funkys. feels awesome.

I pretty much can hydrant out of any trick that I end up in forkglide and tailwhip out of any trick I end up in a trackstand. Now I just need to synch it up and make it flow faster.

All in All, one of my better sessions in awhile.

Buy one of those hardcore wrist rocket slingshots and take it with you when you go riding.

anyone tried shadow undertone tires for flat? posted on 2006-09-10 18:22:44

Just curious what flat riders had to say about these tires, they seem to be real popular with street riders.

good?  bad?  ok?

Thanks in advance
