yeah, just wanted to know the year.
Man kick turns and kick turn variations......I still kind of love thinking of those days when every tour actually had a kick turn specific ramp.
Haro, Wilton, Wilkerson, RL, and Dizz Hicks. Those guys rocked the kick turn style.
Im gonna put a modified suntour on the bike im building up..
whats everyones favorite? nankais?
Thanks for bringin me up to speed guys
whats trick to start with posted on 2005-05-18 22:36:32
You probably already got some good balance from street riding.
With 4 pegs on you bike..
Steam rollers got me started on front wheel tricks. or should i say, half lash (kicking the rear end around 180, while rolling forward on the front peg)... this might progress to a steam roller.. catching the seat with your hand, half way thru a half lash. throw a leg over the bars and scuff a funky chicken.
from that i learned backyards, elephant glides, whiplashes , x-up wheel chairs. (lash oreinted tricks)
As for a directional trick...(no whipping).. I found forward elbow glides (forward rolling with the seat locked on your elbow)....taught me about....
forward side glides, hang 5s and front yards.
those are possibilities....forwards rolling can take a bit to learn but its essential to most modern stuff.

Hi im new to the forum.
Im an old school flatlander.
Something I was thinking about.... I remember when freecoasters started coming out... and some of us were still hanging with our suntour full on coaster brakes, for like pedal pickers and kick turns on wedge ramps.
Just wondering if somebody could give me a quick history lesson on why everything went totally freecoaster?
I did something new to me today. posted on 2005-05-18 21:51:27
Yeah, That is an old link. But I will be learning them again. Im oldschool too, just getting back into it. Seems alot of old stuff remains the same.
i quit riding back in 89-90. Seems all the cutting edge tricks I was doing then are foundation for now. Hang 5, whiplash, scuffing and rolling.
I thought i was gonna hear your were doing them brakeless.. which might be scary. hehe..
