that was really cool

I love how he manuals rails.  Never seen that before.  I guess that's what the person above means by defining pegless street riding :)

the music timing was great with the vid too

Re: Todays Riding posted on 2006-08-26 06:55:11

be serious.

if your're really going to spend 6 hours straight each day on 1 trick, and nothing else.. I would guess it would only take a week or so.. maybe even less.  I don't know.  :|  I've never really invested that much time and effort into learning 1 trick.

who really does that?

Sure people ride for hours and hours.. but it's usually doing different things.
Unfortunately I still don't have megaspins completely dialled.. and I've been trying them for years.

But my sessions are usually short as fuck and on top of that I work on different things  :P

But it really shouldn't matter how long it takes.
If it's something you want to do then go learn it  :P

EDIT:  Today was weird

My lunch session was allright.  Nothing special....But still had fun.
Every saturday I also ride for 5 minutes during my last break of the day.
After that break every day, we have a 2:45 team meeting about production.

Today, on the way to the meeting, a few people stopped and clapped for me.
Then in the meeting, everyone clapped for me.

It was wierd.. because I still pretty much suck.  I wouldn't have minded if I actually did good.
Well, I guess I still didn't mind the recognition.. but it's nothing new.. i do that every sat.. I guess just more people noticed that usual today..  :P

haha

I love how you have that blue one up on the fence. lol  it's like magic!
It's really cool to see all the different ones next to each other.
For some reason it makes you appreciate all the different varitions more.

You have too much money!
have you ever considered getting any design work done?
or two tone?  or anything like that?

I wouldn't mind working something up for you to take up there the next time you have a powdercoat done. :P

Cleaning up Titanium? posted on 2006-08-24 13:39:18

umm I know this is a real weird question but thought someone just might know something.

My wedding ring is all scratched up to hell.
I guess from riding and guitar? I have no clue.

It's black titanium with two thin silverish grooves in it.
I took it up to where I got it and they said that jewelers won't buff out titanium because it wears down their buffers too much.

Anyone know of someone that specializes in ti, so I can take it to them to have it cleaned up?

thanks

yes that's what i do for a living, more or less, a bit struggling at the moment, i am unemployed and waiting for some job to come, wich should soon happen hopefully...
i am not on msn often, but here's my mail in case you want to add me :  julien_politi@hotmail.com

yo jpoliti, that's prety cool!
if you have any advice on how to search for graphic designing opportunities, please let me know.
I search the paper, or monster, or career builder but don't EVER find anything even remotely regarding graphic design positions.  Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places..? i don't know... but the only design work I ever seem to come upon is through word of mouth :\ .. which has been growing lately.. but still not even close enough to live and support my family off of..

so again, if you've got any adivice I'd love to grab it.

To all interested:  I've been slowly working on my main design concept for this shirt.
I found the pic of pete i'm going to use, and have the basic concept down!.. but am having trouble developing 1/3 of the image.  I'll get it though.  Still have a while till the deadline... but hopefully I will have something up soon.

later

Re: Pluto... posted on 2006-08-24 10:52:07

that's sad

This doesn't really have much to do with this but I have a question: Is it possible for the entire earth to grow?

like, if the universe is expanding.. is it not possible for the earth to expand too?
It is a living thing anyways.. so it would seem possible.  I don't know though

That's just one of my theories/dreams on how a heaven in the universe would exist.
Say all the planets grew so large that they mended together in places, creating 1 large planet, eventually eliminating all space and darkness.

Re: Todays Riding posted on 2006-08-24 10:42:28

Had a pretty good session today during lunch.

Even though it's not TOO sunny outside today, it's still too damn HOT :o
We all find a way to deal with the heat though.

I'm really enjoying progressing on steams.
Each day my confidence in them far exceeds the day before.. (if that makes since)
Today I had a lot of fun.

I'd run into em as fast as I could and start out going straight and fast.. then after about 10-20 feet I'd start carving em to the right and pulling the spin tighter, but slowing down @ the same time.  The feeling is very nice.  :)

I'd like to get turbining them into a fork wheelie down.. but am not really that comfy with em yet.
I played with the halflash into them today but still have much to learn :(

And instead of trying to smoothie out of em, I've just been trying to keep centered over the front wheel and just pull the back around and underneath my ass.  Least to say that's not working for me yet.  But If I can get it down I think it will look a bit better than the smoothie.

lately I've been kicking ass on magaspins and dork variations too.

I DID NOT WANT TO COME BACK TO WORK TODAY

Had some of the most fun I've had riding in a while.
I wish I could get in long sessions thuogh.  You never really get used to this short stuff.

-The Community of science (COS) is a HUGE giver of grants and funding for researching.
-COMET (Commercialising Emerging Technologies Program) gives guidence and funding for inventions.
-The AAU gives billion for University research, many many inventions come from university research
-For a very specific example. At my school my Physics prof was granted 3.7million dollars to build his invention. He invented an MRI that can see the lungs using argon. He got his funding through the National Institutes of Health, and another 2.7Million from the National Heart and Lung institute to work with them
-NCIIA awards grants to its member institutions to support inventions
-OTC gives funding and guidence through the commercialization process of inventing.

a good place to look for funding if you are looking for inventions to fund is Inventiongrants.com. The list of companies, businesses, and agencies that give funding and guidence toward inventions is HUGE. it could go on forever.

:o  :o :o

You just made my day
although it will be over in about 20 min, internet-wise

thanks a lot though!

I will take all the info here and run with it!  :D

Re: Invention Submission Difficulties in the US posted on 2006-08-23 11:01:20

I've had a hell of a hard time trying to find money or any help for that matter for any of my ideas.
everywhere that says they can give you a list of loan or grant agencies wants cash for the list.
I looked @ that gov link and found nothing regarding inventions.  I will have to search that and the other link some more!

But It is VERY hard to get an invention into production with nothing to start with besides a drawing.
It shouldn't be up to the government.  But I think the option should be there.
Many people out there have genius ideas every day but dismiss furthering them simply because they don't want to go through the trouble.

This would really only give the government an opportunity to jump start human creation and help the economy as well.  I understand part of making an invention is the work.  Inventors would still be able to go through the process themselves if they were interested in keeping all the rights to themselves, etc... as I am with the majority of my ideas @ least.  But I do have some smaller ones and I'm sure sure many people with some smaller ideas may not be interested in all that.. and would just like to see them come to life.

you said The government as well as tons of private and public commitees/businesses/etc already gives out a tramendous amount of research money for new inventions.

List these please
actually.. just list 1
1 time when the government has given money to the aid of an invention.
1 comittee or 1 business.

could you possibly imagine how well we would do if a boost of inventions was released in the US?

You don't get excited when something new comes out? Something you've never seen before?
Really, Would you not enjoy life more from this?

Re: the 'news' lies? posted on 2006-08-23 10:40:26

sorry

I feel sorrow for the lives that were lost

but It's hard to feel sympathy for the country that's the victim after seeing that.. it's like you don't really know who the victim is anymore.  Get what I mean.  I'm really not a monster.  I should have been more detailed.

glad i don't have a backyard
