thanks for the replies
I enjoy hearing what others think  :)

And monk you have some very good points, but in my view that's just simply giving those people the deserved recognition for doing the good that they've done.

--something to think about--
I was thinking about something the other day, as I was misunderstanding some of tool's lyrics. After looking them up, it seems that Maynard is actually saying "move by will alone" @ the end of one of their songs. For some reason.. when I was listening to it, monday in think... I was thinking he was saying "Bow Alone"
They sounds sort of similar

But anyways, the phrase "bow alone" really got me thinking.
Thinking about how all my life, i remember being taught that it was wrong to think yourself higher than others. Which I agree with, but I also thought about another way to get the point across even better. (in my opinion)

Teach the exact opposite, kind of...
Instead of focusing on teaching others not to think of themselves as better than anyone else, teach that no one else is better than you. You should bow to no one man, or see them as a higher status than you, weather they are the president, or some other high political figure, a movie star, or a great musician, a war hero, anyone that has mad a name for themselves. In doing so, you immediately lower your own view of yourself. Not intentionally.. but it seems true to me. I'm not saying don't praise those that do well. But just because someone else has shown great power, this doesn't mean than you aren't just as capable.

So if you are looking up to someone, or someone is demanding you acknowledge them as higher than you. Look @ them in the eyes and realize that their power is no different than yours. In realizing that no one other person is greater than you, it should become obvious that you too, are no greater than anyone else.

So how did the phrase "Bow Alone" Spark this?
The phrase just meant to me, if you are bowing down to anyone. You are truely alone, preventing yourself from the the capablitly of joining those that are admirable, or those with great power.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe in god/a creator, and I do and would bow to them, as whatever has given me life, is truely more capable than I. But no other human, not even king or queen. It should be considered an insult for any 1 human to demand to be regarded as higher than another, as it only slows our chances of evolving into a more successfull species.

But what about the fact that all of these thoughts were completely built off a misunderstanding? That alone makes me recognize the possiblity that I could be completely wrong in this suggesstion. But it's still seems interesting, and possibly important to ponder.

are there any flatland videos that are from 1st person point of view?

would be cool if a rider strapped the camera to his chest or head, so you could just kind of see it from their point of view.

3d would be neat too like you said

why you gotta diss basketball?
It's fun as hell. edit:  not to mention, compare the physical workout you get from riding flat 10 min straight to playing a game of full-court basketball for 10 min, and then tell me which one takes more out of you.
You are right though, to me it comes much easier than riding.  But it is still a sport.
A very fun one @ that.

When They came and tried to kick you off, did you ask them why they didn't just go to the other one that wasn't taken?  Normaly, if someone does something that raises a question, it doesn't hurt to ask.  Maybe they just liked the goals on that court better or something.

I don't hate rednecks, but they are embarassing to the human race, but then again, I'm sure I've done some stupid shit too.  don't take things so hard

Re: TOOL new dates posted on 2006-09-16 06:52:34

They came, and it was great!

He said he was still sick @ the beginning of the show.. but it didn't really show.

One of the highlights of the evening was maynard, replacing the lyrics "learn to swim"  with, "got to piss"
a song or two before they played Ænema, he had stated that they only had time to play 1/2 of a song, cause he really had to piss, lol.

The stage setup was pretty sweet. A solid white floor, with a solid white wall in teh bg, only about 8-10 feet tall I'm guessing, and videos were prodected onto the floor and wall.
My only complaints were out seats lol.. and the vocals sounded a little muffled.. but I think that may have just been bc american airlines isn't great for shows?  And I was very suprised to see the floor was covered in chairs.  No real Pit :o
