Probably to keep them at a high pace. And if you dont pedal youll just slow down. And the faster they are the better the tip is.

I just got the Revenges not to long ago, the way that they setup is pretty sweet, if you know what your doing. I got them for pretty cheap, so Im real happy that I bought them. I dont know if their worth the extra money, but if you have it, and want to spend it on your bike, why not?
