well can you steam barflip? you take your foot all the way off and land in a sw steam for that, so if you cant to them then learn them first. then youll get the hang of takin the foot off and on so de-weighting it for the pivot wont be so hard. you can jump this switch too but its easier just to pivot. i think this gets you used to switching your weight to your arms to help with like more barflip switches or just bigger switches in general when you lift your body up.
Re: stuck posted on 2006-07-31 07:12:01
lighten youre weight on the foot during the pivot and use arm force to like, place the bike in a sw steam. then when youre weight comes back down youre set to cruise forward. like flow with the bike, but muscle it into position if you know what i mean.

sometimes the people on the trains are annoyed when we bring our bikes but ive never been hassled unless theres like 15 of us, they get a little annoyed and make us separate. i have a bike permit that you can buy in grand central for 5 dollars (or prob on the train maybe you can buy it) but ive never been asked to present it. on the subway no one really cares unless its crowded they give you looks (like why arent you riding it) but again i only got these looks when theres so many of us travelling together. so youll be fine with your bike, just be courteous to people, but im pretty sure no one is going to stop you from bringing it. see you tomorrow.

i backed over my bike the day the pics were taken on my brown quamen on my myspace. it was fine though. but we thought i punctured my gas tank cuz stuff started comin out. turns out it was just water coming out of a hole my bike made in the spare tire well. but yeah when i heard that crunch and scrape i was like oh fuck what have i done...

Re: brakes....no brakes???? posted on 2006-07-23 23:53:30
i love brakeless. whenever i put them back on my bike i always want them off again. i usually get pumped on someones style and want to do certain types of tricks that use them. but whenever they go on i still ride like i do and dont want them on again. i put them on like a month ago or maybe more, and all i used them for was stuff i shouldnt(hang 5-mccircle, steam jump arounds). i can do those tricks without so i dont want them on.(took em off this morning)
My main thing is i just dont like the brakes on a bike. People can say as much as they want "just dont use them" but they know deep down that a bike feels different with no brakes even if youre not grabbing the lever. Whenever i have a brake and see a brakeless rider, im jealous. So why have them on and be jealous of others for being brakeless? its my flatland, and im gonna do it my way, and i dont want levers and brakes on my bike.
Also, i hate thinking of a link and having to work it a certain way so that i can have my lever here for when i do this trick etc. And you know what, it is cooler to me. it must be(to me!), if when i see it, i want it, and when a rider is brakeless its like woah thats sick, and when pros or anybody really takes them off, i think why not me! so brakeless it is (until the next time i put them on and realize i dont like them and take them off)
I dont care how played out it is, but if youre doing fw scuff hang 5 pinky squeak to fw hang 5 etc, you know the tricks... cool thats neat. but if youre doing it brakeless, its like damn, thats harder, and thats brakeless, and thats a cool nice style.
to me!!! my flatland!!!

internal h/s, removable tabs, machined seat tube, shorter tt,... other than that nothing sets this apart from last years?

what else would? its the same frame with minor updates to keep it the same frame except lighter and with more advancements ie the things you mentioned.
