Both. Loosen the pinch bolts, take off the spindle bolts, tap the arms with the hammer to push them off the spindle. If your BB is unsealed, the locknut on the non drive side loosens by turning right. Take that off, then unthread the spindle and take it and the bearings out. If your BB is sealed, you can just tap the spindle with the hammer to get it out. To get out the cups, take a dowel rod or something and tap it with the hammer to push the cups out.
