ditto. It helps a lot when you get stuck on stuff and it gives you basic ideas on how to get in and out of certain tricks. But just gradually put your own spin on things.

I WANT FORKS! posted on 2006-12-18 15:42:26
Ladies and gentlemen. I am looking to create the best bike I can possibly build. I am there at the moment all except for a very nice light ZERO offset pair of forks! I am looking only for specific forks under 1.95lbs. Forks such as Inertias, KHE tanakas, and Original Gypsy Vajda forks are preffered. THESE FORKS MUST COME WITH BRAKE MOUNTS, INERTIAS MUST COME WITH THE ADAPTORS. forks must be 3/8
I myself have a pair of KHE alloy forks, Minimal offset. They are in great condition. 14mm axles, they have brake mounts, they are black and they come with the compression bolt which is big enough to run dual front brakes on. Im asking 60us + shipping for them!
Re: REMOVING MY HEADSET! HELLP ASAP!!!! posted on 2006-12-17 22:33:51
#1, removing forks doesnt mean you need to destroy your headset at all. Just get the top portion of your headset off except for the pressed in cup. Hold your frame tightly with one hand, and use a very large rubber mallet on the top of your forks, It will come out eventually. If not......I got nothing, Hit it harder.

Nice! Some southern infulence. Bring some warm weather with you too like last year. Paula! I know for some reason Quinn works saturdays, but drag him down to the underground on the 16th anyways!

KHE, better geometry, but the internal headset sucks. DK signal has simpler geometry probably better in terms of price too.

the 7KA is a great rim. I've landed so awckwardly on the side sometimes from spinning gone wrong and its still true. Its lighter than most rims out there too and somehow still stronger. I'd go with that or the 7075 Primo Balance since that one seems to be working out nicely for me too.

Sick, Ive got my new Sickchild going too. I love it to death. After eating stale bread for about a month I think you deserve a kick ass ride.

New frame courtesy of Mr. Ed Nussbaum himself. The pictures dont do it justice, in the sunlight it makes you want to shed a tear. Did a few things new this time, such as colour scheme. Im going for the white/green look which works out very nicely. New white fly headset runs smoother than butter. Did some heavy modifications to the old RNC pro cranks. Drilled, reamed, chamfered, sandblasted, and painted. Forks will be replaced soon enough, only time will tell when the new odyssey forks come out.
So, parts check
Bars-Odyssey Prototypes
Barends- Inertia
Grips- Shadow lil dirty grips.
Stem-Macross 26mm
Headset-Fly Integrated-White
Forks-KHE 14mm minimal offset
Brakes-Tektro, Odyssey Monolever(small), Odyssey slic cable.
Pegs-Sequence-1,5
Frame-Sick Chile Aquaduct, insane Antifreeze Green
Steat-Macniel Capitol
Seatpost-Macniel..duh
Seatpost Clamp-Haro sprayed white and custom machined
Cranks-RNC Pro, heavily modified, TI Spindle
Sprocket-Hoffman Dinky sprocket. 27t
Chain-KMC...what else
Pedals-Ares 88's
Tires-Old style Frequency G, 1.75's
Wheelz, Front- Odyssey 7ka 48h laced 4x with primo spokes to a 14mm profile ss
Rear-Primo Balance 36h laced 4x with primo spokes to 3/8 11t nankai.
And finally, chain tensioners. Very very very old, very butchered GT tensioners. If I knew what they were worth now, I wouldnt have massacred them so much, but meh.

I love it all, rides like a dream and custom tuned so nothing squeaks, bends, grinds, or makes any unsightly sounds. And ive got the new 1.75 frequency g's ready to go next year!
As you can see, my dream ride is a dream. Its been at least 3 years just building up parts and money and time into putting together a machine that is more pimp than I will ever be.
Many many many thanks to Ed Nussbaum, Flatland Dan, Jeff Desroche, Andrew @ Baycycle, Chase Gouin, Smay@ Bowmanville, 'The City of Hicks' , and Mazar from 'Da Underground', Griot @ Quamen, Alfreds Quamen, and some people from Bikeguide.
