ok, here's the big problem I see, you're trying to mix old with new, which makes comparisons very difficult. why don't we shorten the range a bit and call it the top then syle wizards of today, I would say...

1. Simon
2. Hiro
3. Lucas
4. Viki
5. Jesse
6. Alex D
7. The hungarian guy
8. Jeff D
9. Yanmar
10. Justin

There are other amazing riders like Martti, but I'm talking here about style and flow. Alex J, use to have that talent, not lately

are you kidding me?
you dont have chad degroot and chase gouin in your list?
have you seen baco videos?have you seen e-clipe?glote?
chase is better that ALL of those in the list even now.
you have jesse on no 5?
he should be first on that list
well for new school riders they are good but the topic says  ALL TIME
so yanmar now still has style and flow and marti and alex j lost it...ok..

Re: kevin jones new bike pix posted on 2006-09-30 00:50:40

since kevin is doing all of his tricks with THIS frame and he thinks is good for him do you thing that
he would rode better with a super light- spacy frame ?
or would you?some people you were waiting the best frame because of the best rider?
what else could he possibly do?
he wanted a strong frame for freestyle so he make a perfect angle for everything and a long back end and 2 tt heights.
if you are not happy call him and say to make an invisible frame just for so you could jump easier above the tt.
oh and however the frame design was some people would still say"this looks like the downtown
or the ares bla bla"
all the frame designs exist now so it would be easy to say he copy something even if he  thing about a new design frame like that 10 years ago, after the big daddy.

Call me pessimistic or whatever you like, but I don't see anything special or superb about this frame. The fact that it was designed by KJ doesn't make it any superior in geomegry than other frames out there, just pure novelty. On the contrary, the fact that it will be produced by Hoffman, that is a big disincentive for people who like quality made things.

I was out of flatland for 10 years. the last bike I owned in the 1980s was a haro sport. when I came back to flatland I bought a Hoffman EP, and I couldn't believe how 10 years later the quality of a staple flatland bike could have worsened so much. I actually have to confess that I was so angry at Pat from FF for selling me such a crappy bike -the only good thing about it was the wheelset...

Just my 10cents comment.

well riders that ride for 5-6 years or something will probably vote for new new school riders.
i ride since end of 97 and this is my favourite riders from when i started/
1.kevin jones
2.chase
3.chad degroot

4.day smith
5.paul osicka
6.andrew farish
7.jesse puente
8.marti kuoppa
9.dylan worsley

i cant speak for the older riders because i didnt have videos of them.
i have some more riders after 2000-2001
trevor was winning a lot of contest but he was copying people.so he is not even near to top 100(by the way i saw creation today and i saw big copycat there.)
anyway i have to name few others.
i liked marton svilagyi a lot (sorry for the spelling)
NATHAN PENONZEK maybe is my favourite rider in the backwheell,ALEX JUMELIN for varaety of tricks on both wheels and for style.
GEORGE GOMEZ for swithes, dificulty, style and originality
SIMON OBRIEN for pedal tricks.MATT WILLHELM and SEAN PETERS for spinning.
i am sure i forgot a lot...

p.s. anybody remeber the last combo of chad d in baco 6?

Re: kevin jones new bike pix posted on 2006-09-29 15:10:25

i like the tt angle and the tt width and the rear back it seems long so it will be good.
not like all the new trendy super short rear back end frames.
eaton should make a new video with kevin and chase

Re: my ti mike s fork mod posted on 2006-09-27 15:56:48

Flatland is NOT soccer (a stupid sport with a lot of fights)
Soccer is not a sport as the name is Football.

And football is the worlds largest sport.
Football also has the most ammount of money in the sport.
Football also has the most ammount of supporters
Football is called soccer in the United States. I know that soccer is the biggest sport ever, but it also generates a lot of fights and shit. Remember what Zidane did in the World Cup. And my point is that we don't have to follow those kinds of behaviors.
thats not even nearly the worst thats happened. This summer in the world cup, one of the columbian players who accidently scored on his own net was shot like twenty something times straight off the plane when he got back to columbia. what other sport is as fucked up as that?
you mean the world cup of 1994?right?

Re: unfair contest!!!!!!!!!!!! posted on 2006-09-27 00:38:47

i was finishing work at 12 the night
driving for 30 minutes a distance of 30 km to go to ride in the only spot there is in the island that i am every summer, starting riding at 00.40 untill 02.30 and then driving back 30 more minutes.
And waiking up at 8'00 for work.
i  have done this many times since the circumstances are dificult to ride here because there is not a place to ride near me.
i think a lot of people have done it also
so dont complain mutt.
i dont understand why the discussion is still continued after 20 pages.
still arguing about kuoppa and miller and europe vs usa.
they both said their opinion and people here continue that shit.
i prefer to ride instead of sitting here and arguing who is the best.
later internet freaks!!

There a bit heavy, but there good for those hard core riders that are always breaking axles.

The front hub is crazy cool

Re: nankai bearings posted on 2006-09-24 06:50:58

i cant find the bearings nowhere in greece, but maybe you can find them in an old store or something with bearings.maybe depedns where you live.
i found the balls from the bearing  though in a bearing shop, take new balls and change them.
i had the same problem in the freecoaster so first check carefully if the brace cone of the nankai is grinded from the bearing, check  the shell also, that happened to me and i grinded the brake cone  a bit  to be smoother and not rough.it works good now not like before but still good.
i bought new bearings and i am waiting a brake so it will be perfect again i have my freecoaster for 4-5 years i think.
and i do most backwheel most and its still great.

Re: A last goodbye to my Hiro bars... and a list of broken parts on the year posted on 2006-09-22 14:22:05

this year was bad for me 2!
i crack a kgb frame then the st.martin fork.
i broke 1 99er seat and i tottally broke a khe seat(the light one)
then i crack a friends ares choice that he has borowed to me and finally cracked my st.martin fork again in another place where the steerer tube meets the legs.on the side of the weld.
and a khe stem stripped the bolts at the start of the year.
to much money so i kept the frames and the forks and weld them

Re: dont get a khe seat post posted on 2006-09-22 14:16:21

st.martin is superstrong also.
and macneil too
