Dialing brakes-pro style posted on 2005-05-03 19:08:29

Brakes are easy, you just have to take the time to play with them and learn how to adjust them. everybody says my brakes suck, but when i'm using them they will lock up for me or i can kinda feather them and let the rim slide through a little. Its nice when you get good enough with your brakes that you can have them set to how you like them most. New or lubed cables is the key too.

Nakia cog question?/headset posted on 2005-05-03 19:05:44

The silver peice with the teeth on it, is loose on my on my cog it wiggles a little bit. How do I tighten that up, can I?

As for the headset I have a bunch of individual bearing in there because the cage broke. Is it better than the cage, just a little more maintenance? The bottom is sealed so no maintenance there.

One more question I have a mean tight spot in my chain any ideas on what it could be I'm going to lube my chain tom.

No handed BW steamer help please posted on 2005-04-18 16:50:42
A one handed bw steam, then yes. But no handed, that is possible, because what is holding the back wheel up. About the closest thing you are going to find would be a bw no handed T-Glide, because atleast then you have the bars inbetween your legs so that you can keep the back wheel up.
Right on I was thinking the same thing the whole time. Now I'm curius.

MTV why they never play any good music anymore, they made MTV 2 prevoisly all music videos didn't even have commercials now is just like MTV. Why do people even listen to the crap on MTV. Mainstream music blows now I can't even listen to rock anymore they all sound the same I can't tell the difference from one to another. Yet this music sells why? are people to lazy to figure out what musiv they really like? Clubs play it so there fore I like it? I don't get it maybe I'm just stuck in 95 when you could listen to good music. I've turned to electronica it is the only thing that I can find endless amounts of something new and refreshing. Everything else just went to the money, and why the money is there for them I don't know? I just want some good mainsteam music back thats all I ask.

Yup got about 6 inches so far and its still snowing. I wish I had some friends who would go out and ride on the snow covered roads like idiots falling every two seconds. Doing that solo just doesn't sound like much fun hopefully the lot will be good enough to roll some steams tom.

Tip for Scuffing while rolling backwards posted on 2005-03-01 10:29:41

Just give it a good kick and roll it no scuffing no brakes. I have brakes, but never use them on rolling tricks unless it saves me from eating pavement.
i rode while it was snowing today

then it got slushy and i kept falling...
Haha props to that, I hate slush its all wet and crap. I rode for about 2 hours, so I'm happy for today. When rolling b-wheelie 2 footed if you keep falling to a side does that mean you need to put more weight on the other foot? Crap load of snow is supose to be coming my way tonight, so riding tom. is looking very iffy. But don't worry ill let you know how it goes. And anybody else get really tired from wheelchairs? They take a lot out of me.

haha well you are lucky my friend and I am not. So lets see if I can top my 30 mins today, less wind so i hope so. Maybe I'll just turn this thread into logging my hours of riding and if you ride less then me you need to ride more and if you ride more than me you guys should yell at me to ride more. Off to the bank then riding stupid car insurance is killer when you have no job.

Quaman make very clean looking bikes and those handlebars that cost way too much oooh. I think i like the clads more though, don't like all these added tubes.

Ride in the rain? posted on 2005-02-24 14:43:38

It's time to get you and your bike a little wet good thing is you wont rust, but your bike will(I guess.) I used to hate rain, but if it's warm I love riding in the rain. The grip your tires get on the ground is phenomenal. I ride a bunch this winter now salt + snow is what will really make your rims go, but hell its better then sitting around wishing I could ride. Me and trekflatland shoveled of a basketball court 2 or 3 times to ride. The first time we did it the next day it was completely ice for the most part, if you rolled in a fairly strait line you where all set, perfect for steams. When it rains it makes me focus on my rolling tricks too rendering my brakes useless. Give it a try riding in the rain if its warm and sometimes even a little chilly is fun as hell. I bought my bike to ride it until it breaks or rusts so much parts wont move anymore. Actually happened to my back brakes arms took me 2-3 hours to get those suckers off, good thing for rubber mallets. Your 80% water whats a little rain gonna do makes stuff a little slick yes, but your all that much better when conditions are perfect.

velocity colored rims! posted on 2005-02-24 14:25:08
i was just wondering because i hate how powerful my brakes are, i go to feather and its like LOCCKKK and throws me over the bars and my squeekers look nasty and unsmooth its like squuek stop squeek stop, i want it more or a squeek rolll squeek feather roll.

i guess i might have to try these out sometime
Just mess your brakes up a little, make your pads crooked and not hit even. Make one side hit the rim before the other. You don't need new rims for featherable brakes you just need to adjust your brakes to how you want em.

I've yet to even start 2 footed rolling tricks(4 years riding ha), I guess they always felt goofy to me. Would b-wheelie or steam be the easiest to start off with. Any other easy ones? Would you recomend both hands on or one off for balance? I think it's time I start exploring the world of 2 feet on the same set of pegs.
