"But, its a free world, if you want to ruin your life. Go right ahead."

YOU HAVE A CHOICE. Everyone has choices.

Ruin your life. I don't care. I am not preaching AT you, I am just stating facts.

Try again, I have posted no threads on here, and I am not glamorizing my CHOICE not to do drugs or alcohol.

Just stop telling kids that Pot is great, and will make you ride flatland better.

The only thing that will make you a better flatland rider is PRACTICE.
Your not glamorizing your choice to not do drugs??? So smoking/drinking=waste of life and no drugs=desk jockey good family man. That looks pretty much even to me. Your not preaching, so it is a 100% chance that if we smoke now are lifes was wasted and ruined. Most of the people in this thread have said pot will not make you a better rider, in most cases they get much worse, others ride on the same level as if they were sober. And is practice still not practice if under the influence?

As for why flatland isn't popular in America, just turn on the tv. And how many Americans are obese now? If you were fat would you want to watch people on bike when theres no bike that would support you.
damn where is the serious potheads man...heres what i find annoying..why has pot become associated with shame and guilt...i do it and it enhances a lot of my riding and life experiences...it has a lot of medicinal values and isnt physically addictive so you can quit cold turkey whenever the hell you feel like it...why isnt there a big campaign on the dangers of alcohol?...but regardless of that...let me know about your marijuana+ flatland experiences

peace
I feel you on this 100% agree. Not going into it though.

Whats funny is people don't like their tolerance to nugget. I hate smoking and just being out of my mind.(not really, but if i want to still do something) When you have no tolerance you get hella high, but when you come down you come DOWN HARD. With a tolerance in the morning it wakes me strait up. I can just get in my zone automatic mode.

As to biking the best way to do it burn a bowl on your way to the lot. Ride until almost dead tired ready to quit. Than spark up a blunt to the dome and continue to ride when finished.(refreshed will usually add an hour on to my riding time.) When I first started riding after smoking I wasn't that good, until I got used to it. Now I would have to say I'm just as good high as sober, both equal.(Both 2 different styles almost) But I find when I smoke I have much more motivation to go ride as to when i don't. I quit smoking for 5 months cold turkey to find a job, got one and they didn't drug test. During that period riding felt more like a chore than anything.(not smoking slowing progression down) In the summer I'll say I'm gonna smoke a blunt then chill at my friends, so I smoke and then I can't aviod the parking lot I just have to go biking.

Riding when high makes me smoother, my reactions are a little bit slower making it so in not a sketchball, enjoying faster rolling and spinning tricks. Riding while sober I'm better at jerky tricks like a decade or pinky squeak. Weither you progress faster or not I think its all a myth, equal progression. I think main factors on progression are If you have anybody to ride with and the conditions you have to ride.

Smoke crack and ride if you want,if you can still ride its all good.

230 and O here in NH.

Give me a blunt, mp3 player, and my bike and I'm good for a few hours is all I know.

I also ride alone, so I REALLy enjoy my music.

A lot of my riding is original, such as I thought up a link that seemed possible and learned it. BUT, has somebody else already done that before, most likely, BUT I do it in my own style of way. I also try things I see other poeple do, to expand my riding. If another rider sees YOU do something that you copied from somebody else and likes it then you could have contributed to there riding even though they will copy it from you and never see the original. Theres so many different ways to link different tricks together that you create your own style with that. I'm still on a lower level of riding, but with each new link I learn it almost seems like my own style is forming. Of course you will get ideas from people, but that fine as long as your not doing there whole run.

It's just about too cold to continue riding up here in CT.
pffftt... please... you have got to be kidding me!!!!
Haha I hate to tell you, but mike is right. Last winter I rode all year round, not half as much, but still went riding. If you think it's cold now just wait. If I was you I would, but on some pajama pants throw regular pants over, have a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, and a hoodie, oh yea almost forgot riding gloves, I also wear headphones cus I ride alone, but those keep your ears warm. I live in NH, so we got the same climate and I stopped riding for 1-2 weeks, but now i'm getting back into it atleast 1 hour a day. Just wait till you need 2 pairs socks, mittens under your riding gloves, 2 hoodies, 2 pairs of pants, winter hat. You feel like the marshlin man with all that crap on, but It's worth it to ride. The worst part is your sweating horribly under all the layers, but if you take any off you'll be freezing and your face is freezing. Suck it up and get on your bike before it snows you pussy(i mean this in upmost respect lol) and remember LAYERS OF CLOTHING. It's still warm just wait till the full effect of winter comes in.]

JFos- I can't wait to move, but I just got out of highschool got a full time job and im saving for a year a 2 them moving to someplace warm with riders.

who hasn't gone to college posted on 2005-11-20 14:59:25

I decided that I wasn't going to college for a while before I graduated high school. So, I went out looking for a job it took me 5 months to finaly get a job. I learned how to clean up aluminum parts. I came in early to learn how to weld and now I have a in-house certification and work 60 hour weeks some weeks. I'm 19, so I haven't been out of school for that long. I'm just saving up to move to a place with a good climate and a good scene. I hate the NH winter. But thats my story of now.

My stupid challenge posted on 2005-11-18 20:06:52

I understand why you wouldn't want to. I finaly got my bike together today and went out, it was a good time. Took 3 good falls. I could do pretty much all my tricks without brakes already, but if I was about to fall I would grab them and catch myself. So, I found myself grabbing for them, which isn't good. I can already tell that taking off my brakes is going to be a brutal time. I wouldn't recommend taking off your brakes if your just learning either, I've been riding with brakes for 4 years finaly taking them off. I like the simple look and feel of no brakes though.

My stupid challenge posted on 2005-11-16 19:24:02

So, I ride with both front AND back brakes. Since winter is coming and I need to throw something fun into biking I'm taking my brakes off. So if you ride with brakes I say lets take em off for 1 season. If you ride with-out brakes I say you should atleast put a front one on and actually learn a trick that requires you to brake. I think it will be a good way to progress my riding.

Offer a good price on a video and I'll take it. Paypal is my preffered method of paying. Or anybody know a good place to get videos?
