Haro is a weird case as the owners, production methods and qualities of bikes have varied so greatly not only over time, but over their product lines at any one time. In other words, they made lots of shitty bikes before, they've made plenty of great bikes too. Currently they also make a few good ones, and plenty of shitty ones. Their 'pro' model and high-end stuff is probably great.

As far as other good bikes that will stay together, unfortunately the best indicator of this can be the price tag. Usually in BMX the more expensive parts will last considerably longer.

It also really depends on what style of riding you'll be doing, there a several brands known for flatland but I might not go with one of their street frames, and vice versa.

Hope this helps, also just ask around. See what people who ride near you ride, and ask them what they think of it.

The reasons for the switch will be obvious in the next month or two as the 'key features' are rolled out. I just want to make sure they're tested well first.

Is there anything in particular that bothers you about how the site works? Things hard to read, or what?

I had a three paragraph reply drafted to this, I just hadn't gotten the chance to post it yet. However, I think your second post may illustrate why no one is willing to help you.

No one owes you a damn thing, no one is under any obligation to help you in any way. If they do, it is because that person happens to be especially nice. When most people are riding, myself included, it is a few precious hours we get, that may be the only shot we have to ride all week. Most riders' first priority isn't to help people learn how to bunny hop.

I'm not saying this to 'scold' you or anything, you just may need to change your attitude about how you go about asking for help.

That said, I personally really enjoy helping people to learn, and am more than happy to do nothing but that. However I know I'm definitely not the norm in this department. I've been in your situation where you feel like no one wants to help you and it's no fun. There are however, lots of things you can do to increase your chances of getting some advice.

First off, if you people are giving you looks like they want you to get out of their way, then get out of their way. The last thing you want to do is piss anybody off. Especially if you're not that good and falling a lot, space your runs out. Watch everyone else and learn from them. Take one run for every two everyone else takes, and everyone will love you.

Secondly, just because people are unapproachable, doesn't mean they are. Hang out, ride, and follow the rules for a while, and just ask someone. I think you'll be surprised at how many people are actually willing to help you out, as long as you are very respectful, and more importantly grateful. Maybe flatter them a bit, compliment the tricks they're doing, and ask them how you can learn to do it too. The most important thing to do though, is ask. People will rarely offer advice on their own unless they know you.

Third off, you're on a fantastic resource right now for riding tips. Use the search box on the right and find out if someone has already asked how to do some trick you want to do. If not, post a new question and ask. I know I for one will be more than glad to answer, as will many of our other members.

And finally, welcome to Pedal BMX, and welcome to the sport of bike stunt. :)

VA was basically it in that area. Your next best bet if you just want something to ride is the Lebanon YMCA skate park or race track, but neither are that great. Other than that, I know of little sets of trails here and there, but nothing really sizable or in good condition except for around Pitt, Philly, Erie.

The area you're in is a bit of a 'deadspot' for riding, that's why I just moved from there out here to Boulder, CO :)
