Pop ups? There are no pop ups on Pedal. There never have been, and never will be.

I have plenty, I'll be uploading most of them tomorrow, in the Gallery.

Hey guys, I appreciate all of your support. Also, I know some of the features you paid for are still not fully functioning. That's why I haven't been timing any of your time yet, it's all been in 'beta' mode shall we say. Soon though, you will be able to login to a special PedalPlus only page, which will display how long your membership has to go, and information on how to access the special features.
New Themes posted on 2005-09-21 10:08:13
The first of many new themes was posted today. It is called simply PedalPlus, it's an ad-free version of the standard current layout. I will soon add back a CSS version of Militia, and maybe even some of the older layouts. Let me know what you guys thinks.

Don't worry George, mutliple themes for Plus members will be up tomorrow.

The main problem was the integration with phpBB, don't worry, this is temporary. It is CSS, which speeds up download times, and will allow me to make many different layouts using the same content. So settle down, when I changed it from light to dark, everyone said it was hard to read. Now changing it from dark to light, everyone is saying it's hard to read. I can't win can I?
So anyways, this isn't the final thing, don't get your skivvies all in a bunch.

Right now I'm looking to start re-working Pedal, and don't know where to start, so any help you might have would be great. Maybe contact me on AIM if you have it, NickABusey

We'll see. I'll definatley be having much more time to devote to Pedal. I have some things to catch up on first, but in a few days, I hope to re-design Pedal and really get things rolling.

This sucks for me, because the plans for my trip revolved around Roots. Back to the drawing board!

Places to Stay in NYC? posted on 2005-08-08 19:47:05
I might be heading to NYC soon, leaving Philly on Saturday is the plan currently. It will be a 2 or 3 day ride to get there. So anyone living in NYC, who knows spots to ride, and is willing to put me up for a night or two?

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm very interested in seeing where this could lead. I'll contact you.
this man is insane! posted on 2005-08-04 09:32:55
I saw his show for the first time last night, after seeing this video yesterday also. I'd never heard of him. Obviously the arm trick is rubber, it's just not possible. Notice the big ugly 'watch' he has on? That holds the rubber arm sleeve he had on in place, and covers the seam.
On his show he 'escaped' from a wine barrel. The barrel was filled with water, and suspended 8 floors in the air. His hands were sticking out above the barrel, and he had two mintes to unlock the 'handcuffs' he had on, then the barrel would fall. He got the handcuffs off, and the bottom part of the barrel fell, but the lid stayed hanging, and he was grabbing onto the lid. Then, he let go, and was lowered to the ground by the wire vest he was strapped into.
So, let's see. If the lid wasn't going to fall, and his handcuffs were on the top of the lid, even if he hadn't gotten them off in time, the handcuffs would keep him chained to the lid, and he wouldn't have fallen. However, even if he HAD fallen, he had a damn wire jacket on! He was never in any danger at all, except maybe if he drowned himself during the two minutes he was under water.
Cheap editing, and bad tricks. I'm not impressed.

Lebanon, Pennsylvania. They are called VA because they are across the street from the VA Veteran's Hospital.

Cory, I run Pedal by myself. This fact alone goes a long way in explaining the amount of updates and what not. I know you're talking about starting a web portal, but with the userbase we already have here at Pedal, wouldn't it be easier to evolve this a bit? I'm leaving on my trip soon, so I know this isn't the best time really, but I've said that as soon as I return, I plan on making Pedal my full time job. This means daily updates or better, layouts, pictures, real content, etc. Make it an actual website, instead of a never update shell, with some forums in them.
I know everyone wants to have their own little corner of the web, but that's also the reason that not many sites get very far. I've been wanting someone to help me out for a long time, but I need someone with moderate web skills, and who's not a moron. This is harder to find than you might think :)
So, would you (or really any of you, not just Cory, if you're on the mod squad, you probably already meet most of my requirements) be interested in helping turn Pedal into a real website?
Currently, I wouldn't be able to afford to pay anything, but that would be temporary hopefully. The main problem with funding right now is advertising, so maybe if one of you would be interested in dealing with the ads, we could run them on comission. You'd have to sell the space, bill the clients, upload the ads, and do all that stuff.
So anyways, the point of this long rambling post is, I think it would be better for everyone in the long run if we join forces, instead of just making more websites to clutter the web with. If you're at all interested, let me know. Thanks!
