Re: KGB Sarvet bars: Superior Flat Quality!... posted on 2006-10-01 11:58:25

I agree, people make mistakes in every country.

Did anyone see that post a while back with the Taiwanese bike factories all have state of the art equipment, CNC, excellent welders, etc? America has these things as well, but it's not like everywhere else is a third-world country.

I haven't bought anything KGB yet. They came out and they were all hype, i was waiting for some reviews and feedback before I bought anything. Glad I did.

Re: New United Bike Co. frame and other stuff posted on 2006-09-28 23:49:54

They offer a 19" and a 20" (diff frames though) :-o

That one in a 20" would make a excellent park bike!

SOUTH Jersey Jam! posted on 2006-09-28 23:43:14

Who would come to South Jersey for a jam? I could promise at least 5 riders, but would anyone thats 'not from this neck of the woods' make the venture?

The location would be a 3 court tennis court in Mays Landing, NJ. I am 35 minutes from Philly, 45minutes from Brick/Lakewood/Toms River area (If you take the parkway). There is a wawa across the street. I have ridden this court for 5 years with no hassle. IF we were to get kicked out, there are a few other places within 2 miles that are decent. The tennis courts are prime though.

There have been NO jams close to me, But I live in such an accessable area that it's ridiculous!

Simply reply with any questions, and state if you would come my way for a jam.

And for those interested in searching for the courts, look for Mays Landing, NJ 08330. search for "Hamilton Point" or look for wawa on Millville Rd/Rt. 40 to see the courts. I would post a picture If my computer could handle d/l'ing Google Earth.  :-)

Re: people talking shit posted on 2006-09-15 16:47:47

I just give allloootttt of people the finger. they dont say 'fag' out the window at me, usually stupid stuff someone would say to a person on a bike like "nice bike" (sarcasm? I never get that one) "yo its lance armstrong" "do a wheelie" or someone just screams out the window or throws an empty bottle or something.

Often times I find the person more than once (I ride in Ocean City, New Jersey) cus idiots drive around all night revving their v6 mustang convertible and yelling at girls. eventually karma catches with em and they get their tires slashed, get jumped by my crew/me, stuff yelled back or something. lately the fun thing to do is annoy the hell out of frat guys till they go wild...and then call the cops on the drunk drivers. NJ's legal limit is real strict, and anyone who even drank that day gan get a DUI.  :-D

just get tags and call ANYONE in for drunk driving, its a riot.

Re: Ares Garuda posted on 2006-09-14 10:58:24

...Lol. :-D

I wouldn't ride it. I think 19" is a very comfortable size, and the geo of the bike to match. (federal hamilton)
This is no reasoning to decide against a purchase, but like...the street riders make fun of my bike now (we're all cool or w/e though, just jokes) cus my bars are 21" wide and I run 110psi and all. Imagine how crazed people would be if I threw a 17.7"tt bendy tubed flatland frame into the mix!

I think riding that bike would really effect my riding style negatively.

Re: bw to fw steamroller practicing for 3 month... posted on 2006-09-14 10:52:07

Your all confusing yourselves!

a good hint on g-turns is to pump your legs AND hands. This switch is also 5x easier switch handed. bring your grip into you for the g-turn. I like doing this link fw-to-bw though, and it feels alot different. My current deal is switch handed steam g-turn/pivot to inside switch footed karl cruiser. fun link.

Re: quamen crank arm myths? posted on 2006-09-14 10:47:46

...Pics!?  :-D

I just have this lovely mental picture...All black bike with the polished aluminum crank arms. it'd be sexy.

Why are those Odyssey Wombolt cranks still a mystery to me. I can't find much good info on them.

Re: Anyone running suelo front brakes? posted on 2006-09-14 10:40:09

Not trying to hijack this thread, But has anyone tried the Revenge Industries brake?

The Suelo brake is simply machined to the minimal and comes with nice hardware. Nothing revolutionizing, but everyone pays the top shelf price.

The Revenge brake has sealed bearing pivots? I don't even remember what it looked like! I recall it coming out and then it fell off the earth or something. Anyone ride that?

The Suelo brakes do seem really nice, and I have to buy a front brake. Being that my whole bike is custom now, I may as well not skimp on parts. So if I buy a brake, It'll be the Suelo. But I almost feel bad spending the money.

Re: wtf do i do in the winter posted on 2006-09-08 23:40:52

It snows real bad in jersey sometimes. I have a warehouse I ride flat in, And I know some dudes that built a skatepark in an old firetruck garage. Indoor parks, pc games, parking garages, girls...

all life savers.

I've seen him in person. Staff BMX...Lakewood...the trendies....durr.

It's like Scotty Cranmers play pen, and all the rich kiddies are invited. cool place, But I keep out of the park. I buy parts there when needed, So I can save on Shipping.

read the Tom White interview about Lakewood a few issues back. it's the truth.

Re: KHE Paris frame; C'est fini ?? posted on 2006-09-08 17:17:27

I'd snap it. Not in a cocky way, a reckless way, just....riding.

KHE really has stepped their game, But I still would never ride one of their frames.

(or seats)

My flatland/street rig is 26.5lbs. If you run modern parts, It's hard to go over 30lbs. actually.

what did you get/do to get the bike weight down? just bought some new parts or something?

Re: Sikest trick? posted on 2006-08-22 22:51:59

on street/park...nosepick whip to fakieon a mini-ramp extension...haha.

on flatground...Switch footed megaspin tailwhip to reg. megaspin.

I get real close to the flatland link. the street thing was spur of the moment, I landed on the toptube/one pedal rode fakie for a little and the frame kicked out sideways, and I hit my face on the flat bottom.

Re: how annoying people are posted on 2006-08-22 22:46:16

come to Ocean City sometime, haha.

little known truth....theres like 50 riders there everyday, and the island is like 8 miles long tops. we're just scattered.

and frat dudes yell at us all the time and we yell back and they try to fight us, and then theres like 30 people still pedalling around the corner. when its 2 of us they're all into it...but not when theres 30+ haha. Now we just ride around and yell at frat dudes.
