The past month, I'v only been able to ride at night. Basicly everynight I'v been pulled over by the cops. They finaly got fed up with me and took my name down. If i get caught one mroe time "serious consequnces will be taken".
Is it illegal to ride without lights on your bike where yall live?
note: this is even on the bike path they pull me over.

here ur supposed to have lights visible from 300ft, well my friend had lights visible past 300ft but they were really small, i mean who can do candybars with a huge light on the crossbar.
cop gave him a ticket saying they were too small.. they never say it has to be this big and this wide.
me and my brother bitched at the head officer and so far they havnt really done shit, one cop is real real nice and jokes with us saying "so your gonna all go put some lights on huh?"
i just got a neon light set and put those on, plus they look cool and blah blah, i got a ticket for improper lights, well 3 girls on mtbs rode past him without any lighting at all, no ticket.. no warning.. no words said.
but yet he gives me a ticket for going out to walmart to buy the lights..
hes like, i just stopped a future shoplifter!
because i said "im going out to buy some lights"
"do you have money on you?"
"no, but my brother does"
"well looks like you just lied, buying lights with no money, i just stopped a shoplifter"
its bullshit, the one cop even said it was bullshit that i got a ticket with those neon lights, shit u can stand back a block and see them just fine from the front and sides, i did that.
what does 1 headlight and taillight do from the side? i mean when ur goin down the road u see a little red circle.. u cant tell if thats a stoplight or a car with a broken light.
but when u see this big cloud of neon u can tell it aint no stoplight.
the cops in this town are gay, theyll do anything to give you a ticket.. you can get arrested for loitering and disorderly conduct for running through a parking lot at night

and technically, your 20" bicycle is considered a kids bicycle, which cannot be considered a vehicle of any sort, so u dont have to go by road laws if ur on the sidewalk, but if u ride in the road you have to follow road laws, because here in this town, your 20" bike is considered as a motorcycle, BEEN BEEEEEEEN rev up ur pedals! hear that freecoaster 2" exhaust? bwaaaa
they come up with some of the dumbest bullshit to give you a ticket..
u can ride in the street, but my friend got a ticket for riding in the street and he said he was on the sidewalk.
even off duty cops can give you a ticket.
one excuse was "if someone was breaking into a house and i was offduty and drove past, would you want me to let him break in and possibly murder someone?"
so basically hes saying "even when im off duty if u break the law i can give u tickets, because i enforce the law"
its like saying a crippled man can be hired as a gymnist, it dont make sense
just bust out ur cellphone if u see him and put it on ur handlebars and hold it there

i had these exact same lights except green.
you cant tell me if they are that bright that you cant see them from long distances away..
shit when i ride down the MIDDLE of the road my lights are so bright u can see the houses on both sides of the roads turn blue, even the tree branches/leaves above me light up, ABOVE ME
what does a white light in front and red in the back do? shines a real small circle infront and behind that u can barely see.
i mean they should be asking me to show my lights to people all over and have them buy some.. they are much safer than regular lights because u cant exactly miss them.. i mean its a floating blue cloud underneath a bicycle.. how many times do you see that?
ive had many people honk at me and many people stop me and ask about it

I've never been pulled or for not having reflecters, i heard you get a ticket but i never did even if they do tell me to pull over im jetting lol.I'm stoping for no pigs.
I was thinking of doing somthing like what Flatrider did in ther pic there except my idea was with battery powered L.E.D lights or just use a cold cathold light from a comp case powered by some sort of high MAH battery..maybe a 7v from an R/C car? i'll see...Since i have lots of experience with soldering, electronics, computers i can take a shot at it then take pics. bebiendo Palo viejo! |
