They have probably the best drummer around... He is extremely talented and will rip any drummer to shreads

They have a few good songs but the slow ones suck... It gives me a headache waiting for it to get good

That was probably "The Widow" from Frances the Mute, their new album coming out on March 1st.

the new album is going to make people's heads explode
the structure of the album is really unconventional, in that some of the songs are 15 minutes long composed of a few songs, and the last track runs at over a half hour. But it's really great and wild music,
the first album was such a great peice of ambigous story telling.

i have the Mars volta album - de-loused in the comatorium. its probably the best non hip-hop album ive ever heard, they got insanely tight guitar/ bass work. killer vocalist, and a motherfucking amazing drummer. he can out drum anyone...period.
