I like working on my bike... Its good therapy and is fun once you get into it. What I do hate is when you have to fix something and cant go riding until it is fixed.

2 days ago I was putting some air in my tires then I was gonna go riding. I put 80 psi in the front and 75 psi in the rear. As I try to take the pump off the damn valve stem tears clean off and I curse for the next 4 hours. I had to tear apart my homemade motorbike to salvage the tube and later its chain. When i was changing the tube I decided to take a link out of my chain to make it a little shorter... well, I dont have a chain breaker so I took the Dremel and grinded the pin off... It turns out the damn chain is a half link too short :x I had to double up master links and wound up making it longer than I started with!!!! That just plain pissed me off to the max! And I did'nt get to go riding that night....

I can do almost everything to a bike, including dial brakes but I cant lace or true a wheel... its too fusturating... :?

I dont know how to fix my bike really, which is surprising because im brakeless...so i take it to the shop..and i lke watching them fix it, because nothing beats the feeling of riding out of the shop with everything dialed, its the best..but the only thing i need to fix often is tightening spokes, everything else is sweet

brakes are easy if you take time to look at them and figure out how they work..other than when something is broke, i dont fix it or adjust it or anything

i like working on my bike, if the weather is shitty or i can't ride then working on my bike gives me something to do, and it's good to ride a dialled bike.

but i really hate it when the kids in my town ask me to work on thier bikes. they never have any of the right tools, usually don't have any grease and they often say "here use this, it's better than grease" *hands me a can of WD-40, expecting me to use it instead of grease in the headset/BB/hubs/etc*. then when something is broken they don't want to spend any money and expect you to just be able to fix it without having to replace anything (no matter how broken it is)

i've been up all night on these forums, msn (sonygod@msn.com if you want to add me), listening to music, and stuff. now it's 9:15am and i don't think i'll go to bed now.

after reading this, i think i'll go out to the shed soon and clean/re-grease/etc some stuff.
then maybe i'll go do some digging or something.

oh, and when i go out to the shed i'll take the air rifle so i can try and shoot one of the rats in the shed if i see any of the fuckers. dad shot one the other night.
