I was thinking of removing the gyro off my nyquist and putting a single cable. Is there any pros/cons to doing this. By the way i can barspin or tailwhip.ANd are the 2005 Nyquist Pro brake lever, brakes and pads capable of being used with a single cable.

^^^
No im not stupid i just no shit about brakes.

Is chrome supposed to come off rims easily becuase my Alex Supra Elite Rim had its chrome ripped off it very fast. I do ride trails and ive been riding in snow, so could dirt and street salt have gotten on the pads and done this.

My bike is black with gray decals (you can see a picture of it on the haro website) would it look good w/ urban camo odysse pro race forks (im not racin just want a light bike) and urban camo odysse civilian bars.

straight cable works soooo much better inless you have a $100 gyro system. Get the Odyssey Linear Cable for $9 then you can spin it around like 2 times with no problem. Straight cable gives you a better feel and pull on the brakes which i like alot 8)

for your chrome problem, salt is what caused your rim to corrode. NEVER ride in the snow, and if you do make sure you clean off your rims and brake pads before you bring your bike in. its just like a car salt eats away at metal.

please learn something about bikes before you talk

almost any gyro set up will work good if set up properly, but, that being said straight cables are easier to set up and there is no noticable difference between an odyssey linear and a normal straight cable for feel its all how you set it up

my gryo system cost a total of 30 bucks and it was well worth it. My brakes are better than ANYONE I have ever met with a single cable.

same with mine, it beats my friends strait cables because theirs brake all the time (the ball thingy in the lever brakes and it frays in the middle of the cable)

you are right if you say that an ody linear cable doesn't works better than all the others... but there is a different. when u spine your bar 360° or even more (mine can do 3 barspins) your brake will work just as good as if your bar isn't rotated. when u spin your bar with an other slic cable (par exemple the wtp slic cables) than you will brake. not verry usefull if you can do tailwhips/barspins/decades... if you ask me.
but anyway, i'm riding ody cables for a long time, but every rider i know with an gyro system, brakes as good as mine, even better.

#1, pros to a straight cable settup: low maintenance brakes that actually stop you. cons to a straight cable settup: you can only barspin or tailwhip once or twice without going abck the other way.

#2, the chrome does wear off, riding in the snow may accelerate this because of rocksalt/moisture etc.

#3, the color scheme of your bike is all personal preference. some people will think its lame, others will think its the coolest ever. everyone's got their oppinion on how a bike should look, so just do what you think looks nice and dont worry about what people think.
