i have built a quarter with an 8 foot flat attached to it. I am in the process of saving up money to add a bit more flat and the other end of the ramp. It is 4'3" tall, 12' wide. Its made off a metal frame so it'll last along time. The plywood costs alot more than you might think. i would suggest 4 feet the smallest you would go.

make it wide, skaters can use a hella tiny pipe, but bikes will need to have a wider one..and then if you jackup you dont faceplant into the cement

me and my friend started it today, we build the deck and its 10FT by 4FT (LXW), we have 9 foot pieces of plywood to bend into trannys and were building a heavy duty frame work so the thing doesn't collapse.

we got in shit for taking wood even though it has a free sign right on it :?

i hate that. when you go to a construction yard and it's obviusly a scrap pile, so you take some good peices and they think your stealing. it's not like they are going to do any thing better with it

why are all garages just a few feet to small to ride in?

its easier to build a 4 ft mini if anything
all you need to do is cut the trannies and screw the 2x4s to the ply then layer it and you are basicly set.
i am dropping about 3000 total for my back yard ramps this summer...yeah it seems like a alot but its worth it
since i cant go to woodward ill just use the cash from that on the ramps and work till i hit the estimated total

5' ??!!!
that is quite small in my opinioin, i know the guy said he wouldnt like any real vert, but that can still be achieved with 7' . yea its a bit bigger, but itll open up more air. you can still air out and manuel the deck, fufanu, abubaca or whatever, but that is all my opinion. either way building your own pipe is always a great plan.
