Hello.  I am 14 years old. I live on New York. I currently skateboard and some times travel to the city with my friends to skate but lately I have been getting sick of skating and want to try something new. I feel so good just riding a bike rather than a skateboard. I have a DK Cincinnati  that I bought a few years ago. I plan on fixing it up a little bit and using that for a few months while I work [McDonald's] and save up money, then if I am still interested I will buy an intermediate bike. Anyway, I am still learning but I have some questions. First, is there a thread or a site that lists BMX tricks? Like on a skateboard there is a 360 flip, frontside flip, etc. Second, what are some good bikes from brands like Fit, Federal, Stolen and Premium that are for everything, like street, park, dirt, etc. I am really interested in street and dirt mainly but I also want to do some park and trail etc. Third, why do people ride brakeless? Fourth, should I ride brakeless or not? I would rather ride brakeless because I wouldn't need a gyro to weigh me down but then I wouldn't have to have a straight cable to limit my tricks. Fifth, how do you stop quickly and safely brakeless? Please help me out guys. Thanks.

Hey there. I've been learning some stuff off this list. I'm sure there are better guides if you just google them, but I'm sure the best advice would come from going to a skatepark and talking to people, and just watching stuff. I don't know about bike brands so much, but if you are going to buy a new bike either have a go on it (or an identical one) first, or make sure it's had good reviews from other people. If you're just getting into biking, I'd recommend starting out with brakes, then taking them off to see how you like it. To stop quickly without brakes, you put your foot on top of the rear tyre against the tyre and the frame. You most likely won't notice the weight difference between brakes and brakeless - it'd probably about as much as sanding all the paint off your bike and chopping the seat-post down. If you're just starting biking, there isn't really any need for a gyro compared to a tailwhip (single) cable. You're not gonna be doing double barspins or anything soon, most likely ;)
