Hello, I just found this site.  I Don't live in a town where BMX is a big thing so I have no where close to look for myself.

What bike is better? Hoffman bikes or Haro?

I ride Flatland.  I just want a light weighted bike.  Please help... Just what bike is better?   Why is it better?   What brand of bikes  are lighter? (hoffman or haro)?

Thanks for your time.

It seems as though both of them are going down in popularity. I'd suggest just going to Dan's Comp's website and seeing which one is lighter. I don't really ride flatland, but I do know that all you need to do is make sure that you have a Short TT or else it will be kind of difficult to whip the bike around as easily. Dan's Comp with show you both the weight and the TT Length. Also on that site they have a whole section just for Flatland bikes

Indeed, TT=toptube. I am sorry for not mentioning that. 27 lbs really isn't too bad. It is fairly heavy but not bad for a beginner bike. For right now, I'd suggest just finding anything that has a 19" top tube because from what I've seen that is fairly custom in flatland.

Haro and Hoffman bikes aren't flatlandbikes..with the exceptios of some Haros. If you want to ride flatland look for the brands KHE, KGB, Some Dk's (like the Dk signal), Quaman. Those brands are all flatland specific bikes (Most Dk's arent flatland.) You should look for a bike with a small toptube about 19 inches.. and whats ur budget? If you need help you can Im me on Aol instant messanger.. my screename is todd bett3rly..

Just remember that flatland is an art and science that takes years of practice.  Any bike with 4 pegs will do what your ability will ask of it.  Don't get caught up in the latest flatland trends until your ability warrants some special geometry or gadget.

With that said, the Haro M7 is a fantastic bike to do it all with.  Good geometry, good components, and pretty much bulletproof.  I've owned 2 of them in my life, and loved both.

The important thing is to get out and ride whatever you end up with.
