Been contacted by Toronto Bike Week Organizers. Last year we did the demo at the Toronto City Hall and ASC Throw Down at the TD Bank. Well this year the demo is in the afternoon, not freaking 7:00 am!

Shouldn't bike week be about riding bikes and not dressing up in costumes which can actually carry a fine when it comes to police and RCMP? Show some fuckin respect to flatland and maybe it will respect you. www.416south.com www.cfobmx.ca

A little harsh, but point proven. Cops/security/anything authority these days is finable. How about we all ride and enjoy the fresh air or something.

I figured there would be hesitation upon this request due to the opening statement and further said. Yes, Bike Week is designed for use of bikes in whatever form and shape, but there is new thing that is called fun, so try it. This Throw down is not limited to Flatland BMX only. Reverting back to the suits...I'm not closed to it, but ChrisP held it tight.. raising the bar. My long Board buddies do this jam called "Board Meetings", there are about 60-120 dudes who all dress up in suits, they take over the streets and get the media coverage. WE don't deal with media at the Throw Downs, only during the City Demo. Last year ChrisP and Brandon did not go full on with the suit in regards to a blazer, but in their best way did try to accommodate for the Throw Down Challenge. There was plenty of respect given to both riders, and to honor their efforts we did our own DVD that was shown at the Flatland DVD nite. That DVD has been requested to be shown to Mayor and Councilors at the City Hall in Mississauga since it shows there is such a thing as Flatland BMX, riders are diverse human beings who hold positions in society and are not lawbreakers. I was told to cut the riding part short for viewing since it is too long..... NO! Throw Downs are about fun, being part of the urban landscape or that particular environment and displaying your true riding form in a given time. Hey I'm not suggesting speedos, like this one guy who shows up at the Toronto City Hall on his "Surf Bike"... But then I'm known to wear BLK bikini when riding, ready for the rain! its up to Riders to display their best security/blue guard look. This could be done at the City Hall in a "controlled" setting, letting the organizers know we would be costumed, after all surf bike speedo man can't steal the show each year, nor do I recall him wearing a helmet unlike our riders at the City Demo. It's up to the rider to be creative but not limited to the "get up", concept as requested. TD is chosen due to reasons already known by riders and more loose than the demo.

Poor Neela. Man, if only everybody knew how much she does for Flatlander and all other "extreme" athletes in this fine province of ours... they would have the up most respect for her..... My initial response to the dress up as a cop etc. was..."isn't that illegal?" ... but i'm sure she and the ASC are open to suggestions. There's literally endless options here..... dress up as a hobo, a zoo animal, hawaii luau, fiesta, western cowboys, whatever.... i'm up for fun!!! fun is fun! Christmas Snake for Lyfe.

ok, i love the idea of riding and getting flatland out there and what not, but not the whole lets dress up and look like fools bit. i mean, the jam at u of t was wonderful, i was so greatful for you neela to put something like that on for us. but flatland to me isnt about seeing if i can take risks in life with dressing up while riding. i just want to ride. keep putting on the events like u of t, cause i know everyone loves them to come out and ride, but i wouldnt belittle myself and dress up funny while riding. --------------------------------------------------- He who follows the crowd, Will go no further than the crowd.
