Hey...im just gettin into flatland and am thinkin bout getting the DK Signal or KHE Stylus. I was lookin into the Free Agent Air Raid, but have heard only bad things. I currently ride a Haro X2 but all I can do with that is a fork wheelie. I want a bike for about $350 or less (yes I know about FLF). PLZ HELP ME MAKE UP MY MIND!!!!!

Thx

I think the DK signal is a great starter bike. My mate recently bought one, so i've had the chance to ride one.
Besides a really dodgy freecoaster, it's a great bike. Light enough to start with and learn the fundamentals, and it won't hurt your wallet.

I bought a DK Signal last year as my first flatland bike and it is great. I can't comment on the KHE, but I doubt you can find a better value than the DK. It's held up pretty good...the only problem I have had is bending the seat post...but that's not a big deal. The freecoaster seems to be okay as long as your chain tension is good.

I definitely recommend the DK Signal. Let us know what you get.

I guess I will be the lone voice for KHE here.  Yeah the FSet Rotor can be a pain in the ass but once you take it apart and grease the hell out of it, it should be fine.  I like the design and the colors a little better than the DK.  Also look at what KHE has done for Flatland and see the kind of riders they support.  Some of the best talent in the art form.  Keep an eye out for Waldemar Fatkin.  That boy is a sick, sick rider.

So go and get the KHE Stylus.  Nothing against DK but I like the idea of supporting a company that is dedicated to Flatland.

It  depends on your size, but I'd definitely say the Signal. The Stylus has a 18.4 tt with a 74 ht so that means it's gonna feel really short. The Signal is gonna feel longer with more room with the 19 tt, 75 ht, and a longer stem (DK trail stem 40mm reach).  Also if you like truing your wheels go for the Stylus. 36 spokes means alot of wheel maintainence. I don't regret getting my 36 spoke front wheel, but I don't mind truing it all the time. The Signal has 48's which once those guys are true, you'd have to do a lot to get em acting screwy. Whatever you do, don't upgrade until something breaks. On a cheaper bike something is bound to break within the first 6 months (most likely the handlebars or one piece crank will bend or snap). Have fun!
