I heard of that back in the early 80's.  Good idea, but if they took your bike and stripped it, all you you have claim to is the bars or frame.  Unless you put it in every nook and crannie of your bike.
well the thing i saw was a matter of you got all these little tiy dots, it was off lie a sheet of 30 or something of that nature. and if your talking abou the paper idea, it helps a little as excess proof, but it's more useul in cases like you catch someone, and they start arguing it's there, and say others get involved.
someone on here mentioned something like this happening to them at one point in time.

I always thought a cool idea would be a front break, triggered by a wireless remote.  If they steal it when they're in sight, and they're riding away, hit the button.  ;)

haha, yeah i've had this idea of a wireless brake system, using a disc brake and a little solanoid.
that could be adapted to deal with your idea.

hmm, ive heard of some little clear stick dot things, its like barcoding your bike, and they can identify from these.

yea i saw that on the news a while ago, but idk if every police station has the dot reader things.
if they were on ur bike u'd have to make sure they don't get scratched off either.
