| Seriously. If we observed DST through out the entire winter, people still rebuilding their homes would have an extra hour of daylight after work to do repairs. If we "fell forward" and "sprung backward", we would have a more equal amount of daylight after work in the summer and winter. This would save energy costs to the consumer. As the system is setup right now, we set a few months out of the year in wich to gain sunlight, in turn saving electricity to light our homes. Unfortunelty, the Department of Energy is run by mental deficients. They must be. If they weren't, they would realize that we're in the god damn 21st century, and 75% of our utility bill is from heating and cooling our homes. So, if we stayed on standard time in the spring and summer, we would have an hour less sunlight (compared to daylight saving time) in the evening, and that means less strain on the air conditioner. This is the exact reason they stoped observing dst in Arizona; the summers are brutal. If we went on dst in the fall, that's one extra hour of free heat from the sun (at least in my part of the country). When will the madness end?  | |

Exactly, just like that one time when we TRIED, strong emphasis on TRIED to convert to the metric system. But that doesn't matter to me. I can still convert my height and weight to metric. Like this. 6'0 = 182.88 cm. 172 lbs. = 78.18. Simple math. Each inch is 2.54 centimeters, each kilogram is 2.2 pounds. | |

| Orrrrrr...maybe try waking up early you drunkarts! The US government and Jews didnt limit the sunlight. :-P but all that said I'd say Day light savings has been obsolete since this nation quit being agricultural based. I dont realy see any good reason to keep it around anymore. | |

First, it's daylight saving time, not daylight savings time. You saving daylight, not daylights. Furthermore, what good would it do to wake up earlier? The sun rises around 6:30; the idea here is that I don't have any sunlight in wich to work on my house. And yes, the Jews do control time. And space. Einstein was Jewish. Coincidence? | |

Im not planning anything around Katrina period. If we ever changed the daylight saving..which by the way NO ONE sayd..daylight saving..they always cap it with an S..anyhow..I would never change Dayilight SavingS just for New Orleans. If you go back and read I obviously would rather it happen because its obsolete..not just for the rebuilding og NO. I would site shadyness and misapporpirated rebuilding funding as a bigger issue in the rebuilding of your city. If i had my way the only part that get rebuilt would be the french quarter. Sadly. I wasnt trying to get into a "im right" thingy. Daylight Saving'S is just a bad idea period. The rest of the US is doing pleanty in accomdating the NewOrleans rebuilding effort. Ask the crime ridden people of Houston. Hell they just forced entire families who havent payed rent out of my complex that were conributing oh so much to "our" community. I blame Benjamin Franklin for screwing us out of sunlight. Many will blame Bush. | |

You're not trying to sound right, yet you insist, three times, that the correct spelling is "daylight savings time." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time Ending DST (wich, again, stands for daylight saving time) in one region would not hurt the rest of the nation. Just ask the good people of Arizona. Oh wait, I already said that. You just didn't realize, I guess, that even though Arizona hasn't observed dst in years, it has had no effect on the rest of the nation. No one had to accomodate a damn thing. And Ben Franklin didn't sign the Energy Policy Act of 2005, wich extends dst by a few weeks starting next year. | |
