Trials riders have been using front freewheels for a very long time.  They need that instant engagement when then push off rocks and ledges.  They use a fixed gear on the back.  It will NOT work as a freecoaster if you use two opposing freewheels (just ask Byke ;-)). It's a lovely thought though - the sound of spinning chain while in long ass rope-a-roni...
why give up before you tried
