| Ever study for a test for about 10-15 hrs over the course of the weekend, get the answer key to do all possible practice problems for the chapters being covered, start getting the problems right without having to look through the text, then take the test and get a 52%? I've never felt so confident going into a test and getting such a horrible grade. With the curve it was a D-, because 1/3 of the class scored lower than I did (1/3 got below a 48%). Sometimes I wonder why professors design a test so that 4/5 of the class fails. I know our university doesn't want unqualified students to graduate and enter the workforce, and they want students who do graduate get the highest starting salaries and have 100% job placement. But sometimes I think they go a little overboard. Now about 1/5 of the class needs to get an A on the other 2 exams to just pass with a C. The class is Cost Analysis and Budget Control btw. It's basically management accounting, and reading the chapter is like pulling teeth. Anyone ever studied this much for an exam and still failed? ![]() Frequent punishments are always a sign of weakness or laziness on the part of a government. -Jean Jacques Rousseau | |

| Ha. That's college for me. I've never been able to score above an 86 on a test in college regardless of how well prepared I am. I know every question that could possibly be asked on the test, and then... out of nowhere.. I score a 75. It's fucking FRUSTRATING. Good thing is I get 100s on everything other than tests, so I ain't doing so bad. I still get Bs in my course. Just... I should have As dammit :x

There was a big curve, my 52% was curved to a D- (71% basically). So you can imagine the curve when 1/3 of the class scored 48% or lower. I've just never seen a class score so low on a test, and Intermediate Accounting 1 and 2 were brutal. On my Intermediate Accounting 2 exam, I got a 76% and that was curved up to a B (85%). There were plenty of scores in the 20's and 30's which is just unreal. It's very common for people to take the first test, drop, and take the class again or go through the semester, score below a C, take the class a second or third time. That holds true for Intermediate Accounting 1 and 2, Cost accounting, Fed. Taxes 1 and 2, Accounting Info. Systems, and many of the intermediate and advanced classes. It's scary always feeling lost the entire semester and knowing everyone else (except maybe 3 or 4 students) feels completely lost as well. ![]() Frequent punishments are always a sign of weakness or laziness on the part of a government. -Jean Jacques Rousseau | |
