| I think I just decided to start riding trails because it looks hella fun, I tried flatland for a bit and said screw it cause I like to do shit where I actually ride my bike, not stay in a 5ft by 5ft area. But my problem is that I dont know of any trails near here, the only place we got is a dirt race track that has step ups and table tops and thats about it. Will this work for now until I can find some actual trails and if I can clear a step up would I be able to clear a double? Also what tricks should I learn first to get me started? Is it necessary to have brakes on my bike? And yea, thanks for the help. | |

| If youve ever actually seen flatland then you would know its more than just that. And if you cant ride flat for more than a week i doubt you can stick to dirt for more than a week because you probably suck cock at riding. | Let the judging begin..... HA! I'm getting fucking ole for this back and forth: this is better that is better: Wait till you still can ride in "Olderithsis" crackling bones jellying mucsles. Ride for your self and just fucking do it, wankers. A GOOD RIDER MASTERS ALL RIDING FORMS, just like a real artist works with any medium and or musicians can play any instrument. Both allowing/exploring any genre. Break ground and be a multi round rider, but don't fucking diss forms, only asses of the masses do that. Yes......but if the average Joe/Betty moves/changes, hell let the nozzle loose. WE are heading into 07: time to let your body and brain follow different ways and dimensions... You gots to be one solid mutherfucker to be open minded. Never easy ride, confront almost daily. I'm a real testing IronAss, I'd rather a bitter pill than stand by locked in horse shit. I have met certain riders who contain that edge, but seems certain other riders will not allow that way to be, Why create or place trapping onto others.....IRonAssSisterRider. | |

| Yeah, enough bantering and such. A track will work if you're just starting to jump. Actually, I wish I had a track to start at when I started riding trails. Second question, if the step up is as long as the double, then yeah. One-handers are way easy. X-up if you think you can do it. If you have brakes you can try some one-footers. Just don't try to go too huge. Brakes are not neccessary. If you have about 50 feet to stop and have good shoes. But brakes are also good for tricks, and you can use the brake to stop your back wheel causing you to tilt forward due to the inertia from the wheel transferred into the bike or some shit. Have fun. | |

| ride the shit out of the track. clearing a stepup will help you clear a double. but its better to jump the doubles at the track. most tracks are settup so that you need to go as fast as you can to clear the doubles. thats fine tho you wont be that high in the air, theyre just kind of far. tricks are for much much later. seriously, the stuff to learn now, is to ride FAST, and be smooth. learn to pump and manual and anti pump. the basic mechanics need to be there wayyyy before you worry about any kind of tricks. learn to be as smootha s you can, because when you DO find real trails, youre gonna see real doubles that send you nice and high, its important to have solid basics and not over jump them. land both wheels at the same time, nosedive everything. learning to ride rhythm is the hardest part about trails. once you can ride rhythm, its all balls from there on out. tricks will come once youve got good balance and good bike control. which will take at LEAST a year to develop. good luck. have fun. dont get in retarded arguments with internet bmxers that may or may not be actual riders. click here to see my gallery at CNYBMX | |

| yea dude flatland isnt that bad it takes a hell of a lot more time to learn. i ride dirt and street brakes help alot. i used to race and tracks help alot and alot of pro dirt rides got started by racing so ride the hell out of the track and learn all you can then step it up a little at a time. it jus takes practice. | |
