Anything less than 2.75 is good for flat. I'm running my set-up at around 2.2 and it is so easy to pedal away when I hit the pedals and I'm leaning ready to fall. I know if I ran anything bigger I would fall instead of pedal away. If u stop riding, u will die.

Don't you mean lower speeds? The closer the ratio is to 1:1 the faster you will be spinning your cranks, and the slower top end speed you will have. 2.75 is the "average", and you are going to 2.27, which is a smaller ratio. If u stop riding, u will die.
