I know there is another thread, but maybe we should create one and update it more with "found" Tool mash-ups, mix-ups, rearranges, etc...

We all know the current rage with the song Wings for Marie.  The combination of Track 3 (Wings for Marie PT1)+Track11 (23) with Track4 overlayed on top.  Well it works, and it is quite a beautiful song, but there are a few problems that people are going to run into doing this themselves.  Most importantly is the areas of the song get mashed up.  I found a slight fix for this.
When you combind Wingspt1 and 23, the song isn't 11:13 long, its actually 11:14.26, the second makes a difference, its most noticed on full zoom looking at a sound map.  Extending Track 4 on the overlay so it is actually 11:14.26 long gets rid of some mashups, or makes them make more sence.

Another thing I have tried which creates another great, yet different feeling song is switching track order.  Make 23 come before Wingspt1.  So instead of it seeming that the 2 tracks verses are discussing to each other, it makes the whole song flow with a very strange cohesion.

Also the suggested WavePad program is great, and allows you to do all of this.

Ohh yeah, and by the way, when you look at a sound map for these songs, both versions I put forth, looks like a sword.

I'm using Vista Beta, thats not my screen shot, I pulled that from another forum.  WavePad the program I used to mix the songs doesn't make an entirely clear image.  I will post mine though.

The 10 000 days isnt technically supposed to be combined on top, your supposed to play 23 and wings for marie on speakers in front of you, and have 10 000 days playing behind you. Its an echo effect and the extra time just allows for the echo to take place. Although ive got the whole mashed up thing on my MP3 player permanantly, its still one beautiful and very trippy song.

Also, if your looking for things that have been rearranged, theres the Judith remix and theres a 3 libras remix(I realize theyre not tool, but A perfect circle and tool are the same damnit)

A Perfect Circle is just Tool wanting to rock out, I love them too.

What Judith remixes, that is one of my favourite songs.
