| Holy crap dude, stop making topics with the same name. Just use the original you created. With sand there are a few things you can do, but its hard upkeep. When you say sand I'm guessing you mean a sandy soil, kind of like whats found in Pine Forrests. Its impossible to build with strait sand to any quality. 1. You have to build up a little bit then soak the pile with water, then build more, then soak the pile again, then build more, etc... That is the only way to get any kind of good base you are also not going to be able to get anykind of sharp lip on the jumps. You will have to line the landings with carpet preferably. The reason for this, the impact of a bike landing on the sand will losen it up, the carpet slows the loosening up process and holds the landing together much better. The only thing is explaining to your friends and family why you get really bad rug burn after riding. 2. Calcium calsate I believe its called. Its a compound that when laid on a sand jump it makes it incredibly hard. Problems with this are, no rebuilding, if your base isn't perfectly packed the hard surface area will crack and break open, a well placed pedal, peg, handle bar will break the surface and give you problems. This stuff is really only used for lips of jumps if you want it to be even remotely effective. Still use carpets for the landing. 3. Water, Water, Water. You will need an abundance, a garden hose is best, but I'm realistic as to your situation. Make sure there is a stream near by, and have many buckets available. 4. There is no solo building with sandy soil. It is a group effort, you will need someone to pack the soil as soon as it is thrown down, keeping it wet. You get it. Sandy trails are extremely rare because of the difficulty, timeleness, and cost of doing it. Yes cost, the Calcium stuff isn't free. I'm originally from northern New Jersey, where the best building soil in the world exists. Any patch of trees or wooded area I could build in. As that goes there were tons of great trails, all different types; tech, huge, rythem trails, whatever it was you could find it. I moved to southern Jersey and now there is shit. The entire area I live in all has sandy soil. There is one trail location down here, that just happens to be pretty famous. Area 52 in southern Toms River on Rt9. Alot of work goes into those trails, and they still don't have the quality of even lesser trails up north. | |

| You can't really build out of sand, so don't even bother trying. Florida is a big Bmx Racing state, just find a local track near you, and hit that up for your trail action. | |

| Where do you live man, they have like 4 national races in Florida, more than any other state. There are like 14 tracks down there, second only to California. | |

| buildin dirt jumps outta sand is tricky man im guessin you mean sandy ground mixed in wit dirt you should go about it my startin your mound wit some bricks then build up on that but you will still need dirt to cover it with and you will probably have to water you sand down to make it a little solid.. :-) | |
