Is anyone else geting sick of the media's attempts at reporting what's going on in A-Stan? It's getting out of hand. Headlines like "Troops attacked after Canada takes command in southern Afghanistan" and "Grenade attack wounds a Canadian soldier" (and if it sounds bad, keep in mind that the soldier in the second one drove to the hospital, and walked in and out under his own power, and was only in for a few hours) are really getting anoying.

On one hand you can say that they are keeping us informed, but I think that they are trying to sway public opinion of our troops being over there and trying to liken the situation to the American public and Iraq.

Every single article points out that 8 soldiers have died, (plus Mr Berry, and I wouldn't be surprised if JTF2 took some lumps and bumps during their tours). They make this sound extreme. We've been there since 2001. So far this year (all two months of it), 28 people have been shot in Toronto alone. Heck, since 2001 there have been more Canadian's die to drunk drivers than to waging warfare in Afghanistan. There's probably been more fatality's of people crossing the street than 9.

Does anyone else find it humorous how every media outlet reported on the survey that stated that 62% of Canadians where against our efforts over there, yet none seem to be reporting the one that came out this morning that states 70% are in favour?

Absolutely, let us know when something major happens, but please don't tell us every time a private stubs his toe over there and tell us some line about the growing dangers...

Our media has always been corrupt. The canadian media is corrupt, so is every other country in the world's media. Its impossible to declare otherwise, all major media organizations are run by politically offiliated people with some sort of agenda, that won't go away.
