...that our soldiers have done in Iraq?

i was thinking about it today looking at a "support our troops" banner and i got really agrivated.

everything you can name that they've done that's supposed to be heroic is bullshit.

they did not protect us from any threat whatsoever.

they STILL haven't made the situation bettter for the iraquis. as far as i can tell it's only getting worse.

they tortured innocent civilians.

sadam STILL has not been convicted of any crimes.

people are now really afraid of an all out civil war over there. if we end up pulling out (not saying we will, but it is a possiblity) while they fight a civil war we will be remembered as some of the worst assholes in history.

i just don't see what's so heroic about what they are doing or what they've accomplished.

I'm sure that plenty of individual soldiers have done heroic things, but when was the last time that ANY group of people managed to be truely heroic as a group?

The only real heroism I've heard of is soldiers looking out for each other. Should we expect anything more?

OOOOH they are heroic alright: I don't know if there are any ladies on this site, but YOU know what I'm talking about.
It's Sporting Life: soldiering.
When in duty if they personify one pointed action with absolute detachment, mind you very few among them carry this through and through
during service or after, and at the same time keeping in check human values as a guiding ship/base: then sure dose him/her with a huge
ranking and badges, but I don't see why there is need to place heroism in this particular war when it is fueled in thick crude bloody stench.

Everyone in war zones be they the doctor/civilian/solider whom ever, if they managed to save someone placing that person first by will of
duty and removal of self : hero maybe, but so far most of the action is amounting to zero and unnecessary daily body bags mostly women
and youth. Dead centre aim when there is an endless supply of hash and white gold:NUMBSKULLS

The Drill is always on and one can always count on the US for keepin it on.....WTF I hate politics I'm Need to go ridng, I only rode my bike once last week, its so cold it sucks.....N

i dont talk politics but im bored soooo. you came up with all of that because you saw a support our troops banner or whatever? thats about as far as i read, if something like that makes you think that much. turn it into something positive and go read a book. do what i do, because i dont know shit about politics. dont talk about them, or choose not to its entirely up to you. but save face while doing so.
