Some of you may have heard this one before, but this is a first time for me, so if you have, excuse the thread.

A writer named James H. Dee, brings up a point that turns creationists on their heads when trying to explain Intelligent Design. Purpouse and Causality. Most importantly though, causality.

If god created life, who created god? This is genious on a few different levels, but the big one is creationists' claim of Occam's Razor (the most simple explanation is the most reasonable), and up to this point arguing that life formed over billions of years, probobly from some chance action that created it to begin with doesn't seem to simple. Yet that God created life seems much simplier. But now creatonists have to explain who created God, and if you would like, who created those first God's and so on.

Indeed. that is actually a very old argument.

the popular analogy is that if you bought a magic lamp, that could grant wishes, and someone wanted to know where it came from.
You could say, "it came from the store".
Your statement may be true, but it dosn't answer really explain a whole lot.

Kinda ties in with the logic that it is impossible for god to be a "perfect being".

Can god create a rock so heavy he cannot lift it?

If he can, he isnt perfect as he cant lift it. If he cant, he isnt perfect because he cannot create it.

I've been using this argument since the 4th grade.

Literally, I have.

I got beat up on the playground for being atheist.

Sounds like the good Christian thing to do, huh?

I was thinking about the subject of "who created God?" and I came up with a few thoughts. We humans live in a reality where everything is created. We also live in a reality with time. If God created the universe, he would have also created time. If he created time, would he be subject to it? If not, then how could he be created because that would imply that he is subject to time. But as I stated before, we humans live in a reality with time. We have no clue what reality would be like without time so how can we really answer that question? Now I have a headache and I don't know if what I just said made any sense.

Maybe God is so old that its just easier to say he always existed. Who knows? :D

So what makes you think there is such thing as time?
