| I recommend 4 feet tall
5-7 feet long and If you want to be trying things liek 360's and such. make it at least 8 feet wide, so you wont be scared of falling off the edge. I am going to stay relatively quiet.

| Can I be the only guy to actually answer your question?
For a 5' box you want a 8'9" tranny cut off at 5'. The deck should be at least 9' long or you will be landing at the bottom of the landing. For the landing if you are doing a wedge, you need it to be at least 11" long or it will be too steep. For a transition landing, it is up to you. Draw it out an look at it upright before you cut it. There's no excuse for being a dickhead.

| do you ride mtbs or something 11ft? 9ft deck?
tranny personally i would do about 7ft-8ft on something 5ft high deck would be 6ft long and do a slight tranny landing and pwh4130 ive rode box jumps tranny to tranny with 6ft deck landing about 5-6 ft long and bassically as steep as the lip im assumming this is for learning new stuff so build something you are comfortable clearing the gap and something not too intimedating ![]()

| No, I go big.
I had a 4' box for shows with an 8'6" deck and it was too small. We'd always land at the bottom near the ground. Good for learning things though. With a height of 5' you are going to catch some air so to make it a good jump, the 9' deck would be good. An 11 foot landing would make it a nice landing without being too steep so you get a kink at the bottom when you hit the ground. If you are going to make matching tranny's then you would want a smaller deck but they aren't as good for learning tricks. Draw your ramp out to scale on paper first. Use 1' = 1" scale and remember your bike has a 3' wheelbase. The bigger you go, the more time you have to do tricks. I know a guy who learned barspins on a 30' double because he wanted plenty of time. Now that's a bit silly... There's no excuse for being a dickhead.

| Oh, and last weekend I went to an old school thing and jumped a 1' plastic ramp 18 feet on an '81 supergoose (18.5" front/15" rear, 10" high bars at 29" wide) so 9' of deck isn't too much. There's no excuse for being a dickhead. | |

| the bigger and steeper the ramps the higher you go
i would like to see you "going big" becasue chances are you are just clearing the deck racer style i can hit stuff that big too ive done 15' gaps off a 2ft high kicker but thats about it with a higher ramp and shorter deck it helps for learning stuff your not worried about making the gap as much and it gives you some good hieght and 11ft is too long you want a steep landing especially for a steep take off the tranny to tranny i was doing i was getting about 5-6ft hieght wise and if it had of been an 11ft landing it would suck landing because it would be so harsh a short trannied landing or a steeper bank with tranny at the bottom is best ![]()
